Hired James for multiple traffic charges in pinellas and a theft charge in Hillsborough. Gave a flat fee first day we met, and never tried to nickel and dime us or invoice us after based on his time. Got everything consolidated and reduced for her without even needing us to appear. We let him know up... front we’d prefer no probation and he worked with the prosecutors to get us deals that fit our wishes. Was always easy to get hold of and prompt.

Mr. May is a unique blend of humble and Powerful. He managed to take a case that involved numerous levels of government corruption, that would have resulted in prison time due to a VOP. Using a rare type of Ingenuity, he had a trick up his sleeve for the last minute, and after rejecting all state off...ers, the day before trial resulted in a nolle prosse. This also assured that the corrupt, dishonest, and violent "victim" could not extort me for tens of thousands of dollars of restitution when I was innocent. Mr. May refuse to give in to numerous levels of elite state employees, who all had motive to falsely convict me. Obviously there is no one who can stand against him, whether in trial or pre-trial. There is no better way to spend your hard-earned money on legal representation than through mr. May. Currently owe my freedom to his hard work.

Last year, a family member of mine had the great misfortune of dealing with a difficult officer in hillsborough county. Her legal scripts landed a total of 8 charges; 2 felonies, 6 misdemeanors. She was freaking out & I was trying to find someone who could properly attack this case & simply get the ...best results. Money was tight so if that someone was reasonable, then bonus. After calling around, asking a few friends, I made contact with a lawyer in Orlando - best of the best. I din't even get half the arrest details out when he says 'I know a lawyer near by you that will be perfect.' I asked if he was experienced, he handles these things; he simply said 'he's good, probably the best I know for this situation.' I had no idea what I was getting; looked around the web but there was little info. I decided to call & feel him out; I had a list I had narrowed down to about 3-4 locally that were all very good. In less than 2 minutes on the phoner & especially in person, you know this is the guy you want - energy, passion, knowledge of the system & the law, ambitious/fearless,, understanding, & a warm & kind spirit. I remained calm until my wife met him; she had to be comfortable with him, she had to choose him. Not easy because she was overwhelmed & stressed like never before. The first office visit was like everyone that followed - Mr. May makes you feel comfortable, he takes the weight, the burden, he makes you laugh & you know that everything is going to ok because somehow you stumbled upon the best guy for the job. Without getting bogged down with details, this situation didn'[t go away over night. I was very involved with the case, the defense, & the progress. Mr May constructed multiple layer; a strong defense, a contingency, a contingency for various contingencies, & a Hail Marry just in case. He was literally thinking of all outs;; including the unlikely possibility of a 'Super-Prosecutor' walking in court with absolute evidence against my wife. All said & done, at a more than reasonable rate, Mr may refused the prosecutor's offer of drug court, he knew he could get better. I was nervous, my wife uneasy - he compelled them to drop 5 of 6 of the misdemeanors, both felonies, & agree to plea no contest to a misdemeanor drug paraphernalia, with a withhold adjudication & do a drug evaluation with 6 months probation. Attorney May wasn't done there - he leaned on them a little more and they agreed that she would be ejected from probation immediately if the drug eval found there were no drug issues. So, from 8 charges including 2 felonies, and evidence - Mr May got7 of 8 dropped & my wife proved to not have a drug problem & she was ejected from probation as soon as possible. He navigated the court system seeking the best scenario to benefit his client, he worked multiple prosecutors, refusing offers most would take, all in pursuit of is initial promise - he said that he will fight for every inch, he will constantly seek the best possible result my wife could be afforded, & he will defend my wife & fight for her every minute of this battle. He lived up to & surpassed all my expectations, all of what he promised, & most importantly, my wife was represented in the best way possible. In summary: James May is great father & family man, a thoughtful, caring friend through a horrific process, & he's the muscle you want in your corner when you need some legal muscle. I don't write these comments for anybody, anything, or any product. I write them so that if you are struggling, nervous, & overwhelmed by some legal issue - Attorney May is a cut above the rest. Get the best, call Mr May to represent you, your family or your dearest friends. Attorney James Anthony May is one of the best attorneys in Florida hands down! In my particular case I was charged with Marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia in Tampa FL. At first I actually called my old attorney in Orlando FL. where I used to live and he told me I live out of his territory... now but that he knew someone who could help me out here in Tampa and who is good. Honestly I was upset that I had to use a different attorney but I called Mr. May anyway and he said he could definitely help me out so we set up an appointment. At the appointment Mr. May explained to me all of my options and assured me that I need to not worry and that he will take care of everything. After that I pretty much sat around and did nothing as he worked on the case and did whatever it is that he does. We talked here and there but it was him just mainly telling me to rest assured and that he had everything under control. Now I really cant get into all the details of my case but I will try to put into perspective the best I can.. Basically all I can say is I have multiple priors including the same charge which I was charged with which was Marijuana possession and paraphernalia and all I walked away with was minimal court fees!! I've had the pleasure of having James May represent me a couple times now. His performance, the way he sincerely tries to remove the burden from your shoulders, and place it on his own, has been stellar everytime. I've read the reviews written for him on here, and it blows my mind to see that everyon...e feels the same as I do, which is incredible, seeing how much attention he paid to my personal cases. I would have thought I was his only client, or at the least, family. I've dealt with many attorneys locally, consulted with the majority of the self proclaimed "best", and I can say without a shadow of a doubt, James May is the best out there. Consumate professional, but that title doesn't do him justice. More like Johnny Cochran reincarnated. If you're looking right now, and you stumbled across this page, you're in luck, look no further. I've done my homework, wasted countless thousands on these clowns, and thankfully, I found James May. After my experiences with him, I'm proud to be able to call a man of his caliber a friend. I've referred friends of mine in a jam, to James, and he's done outstanding for them as well. If you want someone that's going to do the absolute best job possible for you, James is your man. I only wish I'd met him years ago, he levels the playing field against the horrible facism of the state's attorney office. I owe James my freedom, because of his attention to detail, I'm still home with my family. Don't get caught up in the fancy business card, big office, hype, the majority of the guys out there, are grossly overpaid, inattentive, public defenders. This isn't a business where you get what you pay for, you gotta make sure you're paying the right guy. I'm envious to anyone reading this review, who hasn't wasted copius ammounts of money on these other comedians. You don't know how lucky you are, if winning you're case is a priority, I highly recommend James May, with the utmost confidence.
