In 2007, I returned from two years of service in the Peace Corps to find that my mother had been undergoing changes I was not aware of while overseas. It turned out she had progressed to a moderate stage of dementia and was in an unhealthy situation at home. Over the next year, I had to have her form...ally diagnosed, take control of her personal affairs, and move her to an ALF. Fortunately, the director at the ALF recommended April Hill as a resource I should engage to assist in managing my mother's affairs, which I did starting in 2008. April proved to be invaluable and worth every dollar it cost to retain her services. She provided all the guidance necessary to procure the government's VA benefits to which my mother was entitled as well as to set up a plan for her long term care, including the eventual need for her transition to an excellent nursing home and enrollment in Medicaid when the increased cost of the nursing home exceeded my mother's financial assets. Not only is April highly knowledgeable and dedicated, she's caring and compassionate in those times of trouble with elderly relatives, which is so important and appreciated.
