Thank God we are free at last!

The Michael D. Finn law firm helped release me from my timeshare contract. Twelve years ago I co-signed a timeshare contract with a "friend" who skipped town and left me with the monthly payments and the maintenance fees. Without her signature, I couldn't rent it, sell it, or get rid of it. Thank God... for the Finn Law Group who quickly and painlessly ended my nightmare. My credit score was unaffected because the FLG has developed effective business relationships with the timeshare establishment. Thanks Michael D. Finn!

Timeshare saviors

Had a major issue with the least reputable of the big timeshare companies. They were basically holding my credit...and career hostage because of it. Searched for a long time for an attorney with 'guts'. I had over 20 different attorneys and/or firms just said "Sorry, can't help you...It's not wort...h our time or money". The folks at Finn Law took up the challenge. It took a few months but problem solved. Heroes each and every one. If you not sure about Mike Finn or his people, fear not. The worst mistake you could make is not hiring these guys. Oh....and I have a very low opinion of most lawyers. Mike and his guys are among the few good guys. I can't say enough good words about his crew: Greg, Joel, and Katheryn. Love those guys. Finn Law.

Very Happy

My Father hired Finn Law Group to help out with some debt and credit issues. Eric Monsma from Mr. Finn’s staff promptly got the creditors called stopped and was able to arrange settlements with several creditors. He also assisted my Father by working with the U.S. Department of Education to have so...me old student loan debt forgiven based on my Father’s disability! Mr. Monsma also helped my Father by clearing up his negative credit, and helped him establish new positive credit instead. During a visit to Cabela’s recently, my Father applied for a Cabela’s charge card and was approved for a $3000 limit! No more creditor calls, a new credit score of almost 700, and the student loan debts are gone…my Father couldn’t be happier! We would recommend Mr. Finn and his expert staff to anyone!

Timeshare Nightmare Resolved

I owned a timeshare week at a resort for many years. I generally made some use of it each year, so was happy to pay the annual maintenance fee each year. Then one year my preferences in recreation and vacations changed radically, and I had no further use for the timeshare week. I tried to sell it,... but could not find a buyer at any price. I tried giving it away, but no takers, not even any charities. Although this was a deeded type of timeshare, I found that this piece of real estate which I had paid thousands of dollars for was now worth next to nothing. I offered to deed it back to the resort, and was ignored. I then informed them that I wanted nothing more to do with the timeshare and that I would no longer be paying annual maintenance fees. The next surprise was that under state law as long as I was the owner of record, I was obligated to pay fees each year. Since I had bought it "used" from a private party instead of directly from the resort, that little detail was not disclosed to me at the time of purchase. I was always given the impression that the fee was merely to entitle me to use of the week. 8 years went by, and the fees, interest, penalties, and collection agency add-ons kept multiplying. Soon I had a total amount supposedly due, for nearly as much as I had purchased the week for! Fearing potential threats to my assets, and even possibly to my estate and heirs, I began looking for an attorney specializing in timeshare issues. Although this area of law seems to be avoided by most attorneys, Michael Finn of Finn Law Group stood out as one of the courageous few. I retained him to represent me and find a solution to the problems. Mr. Finn and his group were outstandingly successful in negotiating the resort's acceptance of a deed of the timeshare week back to them, in lieu of foreclosure and other costs. Although I got nothing back from equity in the "property" (because its value had dropped to nearly nothing), I was relieved of past unpaid assessments and any future obligation to pay them. The legal fee I was charged was very reasonable for the services I received. I am exceptionally pleased with the service provided by Michael Finn and Finn Law Group.

Timeshare Relief!

We contacted the Finn Law Group for help ridding my wife and I of a timeshare whose maintenance fees we could no longer afford. In a matter of 4 months they took care of transferring the timeshare back to the resort with no personal involvement on our part. The fee was reasonable and the Finn Law G...roup even paid the transfer fee out of our retainer. We have total confidence in their professionalism and expertise in this area. We will use them in the future, without doubt, when 2 other timeshares we still have are no longer affordable due to the rising cost of maintenance fees

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
