The King of Family Law
Attorney Hurvitz was contacted by me with an urgent matter to handle a Family Law Matter. Within 2 weeks time the matter was resolved by the parties, signed, submitted, approved by and signed by the judge and the case was disposed of in its entirety. After waiting for 27 years to get this done properly. This was a Florida case and I live currently in Connecticut. I say to anyone with any Florida based case, no matter where you currently reside this should be your attorney of choice. Mr. Hurvitz is competent, polite, expedient, extremely savvy in family law and gives you a distinct sense that he's not just on your side but that he won't give up even against serious diversity. Thank you Attorney Hurvitz I will be referring you to anyone I know that requires this and any of your other areas of expertise.

Custody case- Florida and out of state laws applied
BEST attorney EVER. He is very passionate about his work, as well as having a real concern for his client (and the child in our case). He walked into court prepared, respectful, confident and was compassionate. If you need an attorney that cares, works for his client and has a passion for what's fair, Mr. Hurvitz is the attorney you are looking for. This was a very complicated case, where the opposing counsel was deceitful and did very questionable things throughout the hearings. Mr. Hurvitz never once stooped to opposing counsel’s level, he kept his composure and won by planning and executing with dignity and a solid level of knowledge of the law. He was able to get my grandson back with his father where he belongs. Mr. Hurvitz also answered calls/emails immediately (even in late evening/early morning hours), listening to our crying and desperate moments with a very caring heart. I cannot say enough about this EXCELLENT attorney. Again, well prepared, compassionate and knows the law (even in this very confusing case where 3000 miles distance made it difficult). He was professional at all times, walked into court with well-prepared binders of evidence and NEVER acted with an ounce of deceit or underhandedness as his opposing counsel did and he walked out of the courtroom a WINNER. I would give him 10 stars if I could!

Amazing and attentive
David represents me in my dicorce and child custody. He got me split custody and increased time with my child despite past lawyers gaining no ground. David was quick, knowledgeable and attended to my inquiries. Including nights and it didn't matter my question. He answered it and was honest and kept me informed about everything. Having come into my case after one lawyer and accomplished what he did says a lot about his commitment to his clients. Thank you so much David!

David Hurvitz Has Been My Primary Attorney for 6 Years
David has handled many issues for me personally and more for my company. From lawsuits we have filed to simple letters, he has always been right on top of my issues. He is knowledgeable and if it is not something he feels comfortable with he refers me to someone that specializes in that field. I fully trust David Hurvitz.

I can't say enough about how pleased I am to have had David Hurvitz represent me. His wonderful service started with his initial consultation. First of all, he was always willing to drive out to where I was for our meetings. He actually listened to me, and then explained what the process would be like very thoroughly. He wrote out a time line so I could know and understand what to expect during the length of the case. His pricing was extremely reasonable. He also reassured me from day one that we would have a positive outcome... and we did. My case was very important and personal for me, as it had to deal with the safety and well-being of my children. David always demonstrated that the case was just as important for him as well. He once said that he treats every case as his only case. It took almost 2 years before my case came to an end. During the process I would sometimes get nervous or upset about what the opposing party or opposing counsel was trying to do, but David was always reassuring. He was certain we would have a positive outcome, and he always told me what to expect along every step of the way. He knew how important this was for me, and treated the matter with the same importance. Before contracting David, I spoke to other attorneys, and all were very disappointing. They would tell me that the outcome I wanted was impossible, the entire consultation would just basically be the lawyer self-promoting himself, and they seemed to have the habit of speaking to their clients in a very condescending manner. David was so different. A good, honest, respectful, empathetic and caring lawyer. I have, and will continue to recommend David Hurvitz as an attorney. He is very knowledgeable about the law, the court processes, and paperwork. He always communicated everything in a timely manner with lots of attention to detail. He was present and on time for every court date, and always did his best to help me feel safe and comfortable (my case also involved domestic violence, so he would request separate rooms for mediation, and that I would be allowed to leave court earlier in order to avoid being followed, etc). He is familiar with the courts of the area, as well as the judges. He definitely knows his stuff. David always sent updated statements of legal services rendered, so that I could see itemized details. He was very fair in this regard as well. He made every single case document available to me. He would even send me the documents before submitting so that I could approve them first. He always explained and clarified any questions or doubts that I would have. It was always easy to reach him for communication via email, text, or phone call. He knew and understood that the most important part of this case was my children and their safety, and his representation ensured this. I am so thankful to have had David work on my case. My children are happy and safe; there is peace in my life and my home. On behalf of myself and my family, thank you David. If I ever need a lawyer again, I would not hesitate to retain David. I highly recommend him.

Most people use a lawyer to review a real estate contract or prepare a will, but over their lifetimes rarely need a lawyer for trial. Before I expound on how special David is, let me share the biggest challenges that I had with 4 different lawyers for my divorce, alimony termination case, and appeal. In fact, these challenges were more than common annoyances, as I am confident that I lost all legal battles because the lawyers were juggling too many cases and cared more about their # of billable hours than my outcome, or they were simply incompetent: 1 – DOCUMENTS – I could never get copies of the documents being sent between the lawyer, the court and the opposing counsel. In other words, the lawyers were making decisions – without me – on my strategy and tactics to implement it. With David, what a pleasure it is to have every document emailed to me before he submits it. He always makes sure that I understand the doc, understands our goals, understands the legal process, and asks if I have input to change the doc 2 – COMMUNICATIONS – Trying to communicate with a lawyer after signing their retainer agreement was so difficult that it hurts to recall the many hoops that I had to go through with receptionists, secretaries, emails and voice-mails – just to get a status. Once again, what a delight it is to simply text or email David, get a response, or if the issue requires more discussion, David simply responds with his schedule, so that he could call at a later time to chat further 3 – BILLING – How dare lawyers “pad” their bills. For example, a bill would have $47 line items for reading each email. When I checked out why, I was told that once my email was received by the lawyer, it was printed out, put on the lawyer’s desk, then, the lawyer read it and dictated a response. Then, the secretary listened to the dictation and prepared a letter AND email, and sent them back to me. Are you kidding? This gets to be quite expensive and is an example of the many hidden tactics that lawyers use to “double-bill.” With David, what a surprise it was to have his billing reflect his “true” efforts to support me 4 – EMOTIONAL SUPPORT – During a trial, it was surprise to find out that our legal system is archaic, simple-minded and even childlike. In other words, judges can ignore the law and rule whatever they want – over and above legislation, case law and evidence. Because of David’s human nature, it was very nice to have him there to handle my anguish when the system did not work for me Finally, I can’ say enough on David’s values. His parents created a monument. Additionally, his intellect, recall on the law, and research capabilities are fabulous. I was proud to have found a critical thinker that truly cared about me, my case, and the results that we wanted to achieve.

David came highly recommended to us by a 30 year friend
David has been our attorney for 3 years fighting our homeowners association's discrimination against a family member with a disability. I highly recommend David and have recommended him on several occasions. He is an attentive attorney and he kept us well informed along the way. Cynthia.

Great and caring!
I was referred to David, i was searching for a lawyer for my case for timesharing and child support for my son. All the lawyers i talked to barely gave me their interest and wouldnt even listen to my complete story. But David actually met me for lunch and sat down and talked me through the whole process. He made me feel very comfortable and at ease especially since this was the first time ive dealt with this. He was very reasonable and helped me through everything. David was very knowledgable in the case. He didnt miss a date or a deadline. Everything was on time and he took care of everything. It was like a stroll in the park we won everything and i got everything i wanted and more. David is great and i definitely would recommend anybody to try him.

Review of legal services re: David Hurvitz
David Hurvitz explained every step in the divorce process in a friendly and easy to understand manner. Final results were spot-on to his anticipated final judgement. While that won't always be the case, it's calming to work with an attorney who has a such a firm understanding of my case and how it relates to case law. He can use his experience to anticipate oall of our future challenges, and have them addressed appropriately. And last but not least, David Hurvitz and his staff kept me informed of where I stood in regard to service fees, and anticipated future charges, at all times. No Surprises! I could not have asked for more. Thanks again David, -Albert

an attorney I trust
I asked David to represent me in a child visitation& support hearing. David kept me in the loop throughout the entire process& was always prepared. He prepped me well for questions the opposing council would ask& always had my back while I was on the stand. He made this scary situation in my life easier for me.I was able to focus on what truly mattered, my kids, while he took care of the legal entanglements. I'm so glad I made the decision to hire David. I have and will continue to recommend him, as well as, hire him again if ever needed.

Used on couple occasions so far
I used Mr. Hurvitz on a couple occasions. One for a child support and parenting agreement modification (stipulation). The other for probate. Probate is probate. In the stipulation I think he did very well. He was passionate about winning. It was easily a justifiable case, but his knowledge on case law came in very handy to shorten what might have been a long a protracted effort. He sometimes seems could be better organized and he stretches himself thin, but overall I think he did a good job and for a rate that was better than other attorneys I had looked at. And he is easy to work with. Not many people can probably live up to 5 star Perry Mason, but I will continue to have him on my Contacts as go to for legal.

Won't Do Notice Of Hearing

RE; Comment on Representation
I was referred to Mr. Hurvitz his representation that he demonstrated was incompetence right from the beginning of my case. He filed improperly written notifications and motions that were rejected by the judge, which then had to be rewritten and refilled and re-served (costing me even more money) He blatantly admitted to me that he had never had a respondent presenting himself Pro Se and really didn’t know what to do!!!!! Was unaware of the proper procedure for notifying respondent of filings and court dates.

Can not recommend this attorney
In my opinion, Mr. Hurvitz was not knowledgeable about this type of case. I was trying to collect a debt from a person who had filed bankruptcy. His firm gave me contradictory information and then denied doing so. Based on the statements made by Hurvitz and his partner I believed it would be prudent and financially sound to pursue the claim, however in the end their legal fees will exhaust most of the proceeds of the claim. Additionally I will have to wait years to receive my payment while Hurvitz is paid now. Beyond that issue I found the communication to be very lacking. Also on the day of the court appearance in Tampa Hurvitz arrived late and advised me that he had to be at another court appearance in Clearwater in 90 minutes. At that point I felt as though my interests were not as important as his scheduling conflict. I was also charged for legal research for an issue that, in my opinion, Hurvitz should have been familiar with and not having to research. I honestly feel that the representation I received from David Hurvitz was substandard. I would not recommend him or his firm.Dan
