Mireya Angelica Quintana - Lacayo

Born and raised in El Paso Texas, I moved to Tampa Florida in the midst of a global pandemic not knowing I would very quickly fall in love with all that the Tampa Bay Area offers.

Launching my legal career in Clearwater gave me the opportunity to work alongside Board Certified Expert in Marital and Family Law, and Board Certified Advocate Gary E. Williams, B.C.S. For years, I worked directly with Mr. Williams as his designated Law Clerk, solely managing his cases, and preparing for and attending hearings, depositions, and trials. I also helped Mr. Williams in preparing and drafting discovery requests and financial affidavits for clients.

With the experience, skills, and training received under Mr. Williams, the transition from Law Clerk to Associate Attorney was seamless. To date, I have handled numerous cases in varying stages of the legal process, from initial consultations, to mediation, to final hearings, and even trial. Focusing solely on Family and Marital Law has helped me tailor my practice to efficiently aid clients through this challenging life change.

As a member of the Florida Bar Family Law, Trial Lawyers, and Young Lawyers Sections, I strive to always be a student of the law, staying up to date on new laws and cases, and providing some of the resources gained from these sections with clients. With a background in Media and Communications, I have been hand selected as a Committee Member of the Florida Bar Media and Communications Law Committee, diving deeper into First Amendment issues prevalent in our country and the State of Florida.

I founded The Family Law Firm of Tampa Bay with the belief that every client should have access to affordable, high-quality legal representation. Some of the most rewarding clients I’ve had the pleasure of working with are those who were turned away by other Firms solely because they could not afford to pay thousands of dollars upfront in legal fees. My goal is to work on a financial strategy together with all clients that works well for you and your budget, without sacrificing the quality of your representation.

I received my Juris Doctorate Degree (J.D.) from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio Texas. During my time at St. Mary’s, I was honored to be selected as a member of the Trial Advocacy Team, competing on both the Mock Trial and Jessup International Moot Court Teams. St. Mary’s Trial Advocacy program was recently named 4th in the Nation by the American Bar Association, and I credit my oral advocacy and brief writing skills to the training I received at St. Mary’s.

On occasion you may see (or hear!) the legal assistants in training at The Family Law Firm of Tampa Bay – Walter, Kylo, and Lara. When not spending time with my fur babies, you can catch me at a Buccaneers or Lightning game with my husband! I love spending time with my family, keeping my Peloton streak alive, and watching reality TV shows.
