Biography
Dennis Hernandez, Esq., a fifth-generation Florida native, is a nationally recognized personal injury attorney known for his unwavering advocacy on behalf of accident victims. Born and raised in Tampa, he became an attorney at just 23 years old and has spent more than three decades fighting for the rights of those injured in serious accidents throughout Florida.
Mr. Hernandez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Duke University, a Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law, and a prestigious Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School. These credentials underscore both his legal expertise and academic excellence.
In 1996, he founded Dennis Hernandez Injury Attorneys, a statewide law firm devoted to helping victims of car accidents, motorcycle crashes, truck and commercial vehicle collisions, pedestrian incidents, and product liability claims. Under his leadership, the firm has grown to serve clients across Florida, with offices in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Bradenton, Orlando, Fort Myers, and Lakeland (by appointment).
Over the course of his career, Mr. Hernandez has recovered millions and millions of dollars for his clients and has won numerous high-stakes verdicts and settlements, including:
- $17 million verdict for a motorcycle accident victim
- $15 million verdict in an auto accident case
- $7.5 million recovered in an auto crash bad faith case
- $7 million in a motorcycle crash bad faith case
- $4.25 million recovery for an auto accident
- $3.5 million verdict for a car crash victim
- $3 million recovered in another bad faith auto crash case
- $2 million verdict in a severe auto accident
He is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He has completed advanced litigation training through the Trial Lawyers College and the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA). These programs reinforce his commitment to top-tier trial advocacy.
Mr. Hernandez is a respected member of the Florida Justice Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Florida Bar. His firm works on a contingency fee basis so clients pay nothing unless compensation is recovered.
