Disorganized

I used Ms. Thomson in a family law case. Although she seems highly knowledgeable and a good counselor I found her to be highly disorganized. This disorganization comes out in the courtroom as a lack of confidence and skill. I did not care for her style of responsiveness with paperwork and care for... the client. I eventually found another lawyer where I was happy with the results.

Unfortunately, AVVO does not verify negative "reviews" such as this. The allegation of "disorganization" that comes out in the courtroom suggests that this person hired another attorney after I represented her in court in a litigated matter. I have not had a situation such as this. I have not had a client of mine hire another attorney after litigation with me in court.. This "review" is not valid.

Excellent attorney

Deborah Thomson is an excellent attorney. Ms. Thomson handled my modification of visitation and child support. Her experience and knowledge of the law is evident in the courtroom and I felt confident knowing she was representing me. She answered my questions in a timely manner and constantly kept me ...informed. In addition, her empathy and concern meant so much to me during an extremely stressful time. I cannot say enough good things about her and I highly recommend her!!

Highly Recommended Professional!

Mrs. Thomson represented me through my divorce and I don’t know what I would have done without her! She made what I expected to be a difficult, complicated process easy and seamless. I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect, but she kept me informed every step of the way. She explained everyt...hing that was going on and always was very prompt in answering all of my questions. Mrs. Thomson demonstrated a thorough understanding of the law and in strategies that are necessary in dealing with certain situations. She took my worries away and handled everything professionally and diligently. I highly recommend her. Hopefully I will never have another divorce, but I know where I’d go if ever I or anyone I care about needs an attorney.

Not Just for "Women"

Having gone through a very difficult divorce and child custody battle early in 2001, I would know how hard , first hand the system can be on the entire family. On at least two occasions since the final judgement Debra Thompson has been able to assist us in righting the wrongs that were both "the Sy...stems" failures and not of our own doing. Why was she able to "fix" these horrific injustices? Her passion for doing what is in the best interest of her clients and , more importantly, her absolute knowledge of the law as it pertains to being beneficial to a family. My only regret is that we did not obtain her services initially during the process.

Reliable, Knowledgeable, Professional and a Champion in the court room.

Deborah L. Thomson and the whole staff at the womens law group are great lawyers, I was looking for an attorney in tampa fl, happen to google or yahoo women attorneys, saw website, read it an impressed, I called, free phone consultation to discuss my case, I went to their office, Susan Caudill very p...olite nice, I had a face to face consultation, which was a 100 bucks, but however that 100 bucks was worth the money, because, I had to see the judge the next day and i could not afford them to represent me at that moment. She needed 5000 dollars for my custody hearing, which is the going price, nothing unheard of. I pretty much done all the work research for my case before I look for and attorney, but for as far as, to continue my case to go far as a victory and to be able to see my son, I needed closing help, she definitly pointed me in the right direction, far as, talking to the judge and getting in a prosition to were, i could afford to hand off the ball (the ball is the promblem of me not seeing my son) to her take over. I did exactly what she told me to do, wrote it down, right there in her office as she was telling me , what I needed to do far as filing paperwork at the courthouse ect, a couple of weeks later, when I had did everything i needed to do from that 100 consultation, I was in a prosition to were she could help me, go to my new custody hearing, I had more then a 100% confidence, everything from whats on there website, profile, they are the truth, no exaggeration, when we went to court, she blew me away, Deborah L. Thomson as any other client of hers would say she is reliable, knowledgeable, professional and a champion in the court room. This was my first time ever hiring a lawyer, but she could easily be the women version of law and order, Executive D.A Jack McCoy, truly focus! Express the point to the judge, which i would not been able to put in words! She won my case, now I have a consistent realationship with my son and full custody of my son and, she won the case in november 2010, I was suppose to had been put my review on here, but it was a major transition with getting my son and him and I adapting, I had time now to write this review, im very pleased, me , my son and his mom are all finally on the same page, thank you women law group!

"It appears to me that this lawyer is a fighter. In my humble opinion, fight is what you want in a lawyer. Some folks think wisdom and experience is what they want in a lawyer. I personally believe that how hard a person is willing to fight for you is the primary concern for the legal consumer. She appears to be a person that does not back down based upon my online research concerning AVVO. Although there are other reasons to hire this lawyer that alone compels me to strongly urge you hire this lawyer. I don't endorse lawyers to improve AVVO ratings."
