Fair and effective

Blair handled my case with compassion and gave me clear expectations on the results of my case. He would suggest possible paths of action that didn't necessarily increase his bottom line which I appreciated. Ultimately his guidance kept me out of trouble and my family back together. His office was ex...tremely responsive in times of emergency and otherwise. Although not inexpensive, Blair is fair and accommodating with billing. You will not find a more straightforward and honest attorney and I highly recommend him.

Outstanding Representation

Mr. Chan successfully handled a very complex child visitation matter, including changing jurisdiction to another Florida County where we now reside. He was incredibly professional in dealing with the ex's obnoxious and recalcitrant lawyer and his knowledge of the appropriate strategy and the steps to... implement it for our son was second to none. I am an attorney myself and interviewed many Hillsborough County high-profile law firms before deciding that Mr. Chan should handle this sensitive matter for my family. Mr. Chan is Board Certified in Florida Family law and it showed in everything he did. Not only did he successfully handle all matters in court for us, but we were equally impressed with his demeanor and honesty when advising us of the different ways we could solve our problems. Most importantly, his fees were extremely reasonable for the outstanding representation and Family Law expertise he provided. I would not only recommend him, but I will readily hire him again if the need arises. He is an extremely effective litigator, well-known and respected by the judicial community and never forgets to suggest practical solutions to very complex legal problems. He solved our problem completely and never forgot that the safety and well-being of our 6 year old was all that really mattered.

Professional approach, personal service and reasonable rates

I recently engaged Blair to represent me in a request to modify my time-share plan and child support obligation. Blair thoroughly researched my case and provided thoughtful guidance on how to navigate the issues and reach a desired conclusion. We came thoroughly prepared to my mediation and ultimat...ely reached resolution with my ex-wife on several of the key concerns that caused me to initiation the motion in the first place. Blair and his colleague Stephanie were always reachable, were timely in their communication and provided a level of "bedside manner" that you won't find from an attorney in a larger practice. I think Blair's hourly rates and billing practices are extremely fair and would highly recommend them for various family law issues.

Mentall Illness

In my situation, my wife is mentally ill. When I brought her to a doctor, she filed for divorce because: "I no longer understood her". Several series of events followed, and included: a lifetime violent restraining order against my wife from a dance studio (she stalked and physically threaten...ed them), my children's private school demanding an evaluation (first of 2 incidents), and a contempt of court charge for vaccinating my children; despite Florida law requiring the vaccinations and no legitimate exemption, etc. Additionally, I was defamed with a "restraining order" filed by my wife on December 17th, which was fortunately denied by the judge (which would have prevented me from seeing my children on Christmas), and an "unfounded battery report", shortly thereafter. Mental illness, alcoholism and drug addition are extremely complicated proceedings, so I can't advocate Blair enough... I have 100% custody/time sharing of my children with no time sharing or visitation - unless the mother seeks the help required by the courts. I have exclusivity of the house to raise my children. Particularly, if you are dealing with this type of dilemma, there is no better - we NEVER lost a round in court...

Have children? Hire Blair.

Blair has been representing me for a little over three years now. He's honest, rational, educated, and possesses all of the traits reasonable people look for in an attorney, but mostly, I appreciate that he understands that the most desirable outcome in a dissolution that involves children is one in ...which both parties can function as co-parents afterward. I've seen attorneys humiliate their clients with their aggression and belligerence, and I've seen attorneys sell false promises and advise their clients poorly simply to prolong litigation so they can collect as much money as possible. I have never had to worry about that with Blair. Even when opposing counsel has yelled at him in court or attempted to intimidate him via email or in mediation, Blair has always been stoic and cool, allowing them to make fools of themselves--and he always comes out on top for it. He will never be the one to turn your hearing, mediation, or trial into a humiliating circus. He's disciplined and calm, but that doesn't mean he doesn't care. Blair has always advised me with the best interests of our entire family in mind. He has never made lofty promises and has never encouraged useless litigation to prolong my case. He's responsive, patient, and is happy to answer any questions we have. My prior attorney collected my money and made decisions herself without informing me or even asking me for my input. She was prone to courtroom theatrics and tried to bully me into pursuing alimony even though I didn't want it and hadn't been married anywhere near long enough to have legal grounds to request it. She dropped me as a client when I refused to move forward with her asinine strategies. After that nightmare, Blair has performed beyond anything I could have hoped for. I highly recommend Blair if you're looking for a family law attorney who genuinely wants to represent your interests with consideration and class. If you're in a custody dispute, or a dissolution with children, Blair is the attorney you want on your side. If you're looking for an "aggressive" lawyer (a bully) to get emotional in court and put on a show for you, you're probably not the caliber of client who can appreciate an attorney like Blair, who prefers relying on law, evidence, and logical arguments. In our experience, he wants to attain favorable outcomes like a rational adult--with the least amount of conflict and animosity possible.
