Biography
George Hunter began his professional career after graduating from college as a claims adjuster for a major national property and casualty insurance company specializing in handling automobile accident claims. As a Florida licensed All-Lines (620) claims adjuster, George gained valuable insurance industry experience in every aspect of the claims process. His experience included everything from writing vehicle damage estimates, handling PIP/No-Fault claims, and adjusting vehicle total loss claims, to handling and evaluating bodily injury claims, including catastrophic loss and death claims, and overseeing mediation, arbitration and litigation files.
George later decided to take his professional career in a different direction and further his education by enrolling in law school during which he ultimately earned a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Upon completing his graduate studies, George began his legal career as an insurance defense attorney. During the first decade of his legal career, George defended hundreds of lawsuits brought by individuals and corporations against insureds (3rd party lawsuits) and/or their insurance companies (1st party lawsuits), in addition to handling complex insurance coverage issues and potential bad faith insurance cases on behalf of insurers.
Eventually, George chose to take his legal career on a different path when he ultimately decided to open his own law firm, the Law Offices of George Hunter, P.A., and represent people rather than defend insurance companies. In all, George has over twenty-five (25) years of insurance-related experience and he brings this experience to bear in an effort to "level the playing field" and to maximize the results for his clients.
On the firm.... The Law Offices of George Hunter, P.A., is a law firm seriously committed to serving its community. The firm is a frequent sponsor of various local area youth sports teams and events. George is a coach of a competitve youth travel baseball team, and is an active member of the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce. George has also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Riverview Boys and Girls Club, is a frequent guest speaker at local area schools and has been involved in mentoring programs, including the Great American Teach-In, the Stetson University College of Law Office of Career Development, and the Stetson Lawyers Solo Practice Institute. George has also served as an instructor to both legal and non-legal professionals through the National Business Instutute and the Hillsborough County Small Contractor Development Program.
