I was getting divorced and had other counsel who was charging me for filling out paperwork and not advancing my case to resolution. I finally found Steven and hired him as my new attorney. I hired this lawyer to manage my divorce in 2018, which went nowhere for several months. I tried to speak with him several times about the process. I am giving two stars (instead of one) because I felt this attorney did make himself available to speak to me. However, I was not educated nor provided g...ood, clear information regarding my divorce options. Out of desperation I asked that something be filed with the courts after several months, which looking back, was unnecessary since all our assets were split and everything was uncontested between the two of us. After paying a lump fee, I had to fire him after several months. I have since found a new attorney who moved my case forward quickly, was professional, had real legal assistants, and was savvy using a computer to conduct business. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a divorce lawyer. In general, and due to this experience, I will not be paying a lawyer a flat fee ever again in the future.

I think I speak for the majority of us when I say that divorce is a tumultuous, extremely emotional and painful process! Especially if there are children and assets involved. You’re heartbroken and angry...so during this process, its hard to trust anyone and it can be easy to redirect your anger an...d impatience on the wrong person or event. Which I believe may explain most of the negative comments on here directed at Mr. Cripps. Does he sometimes take a day to return your call? Yes. Is he a man of few words? Yes. Can that be frustrating? Of course. But does he get the job done? You can bet your hard earned money on it! My husband left me on Valentines day, on Valentines Day!! I was an emotional mess, left with the mortgage and a slew of bills to pay. Not only did Mr. Cripps offer a flat rate fee but also an affordable payment plan. I retained Mr. Cripps towards the end of March and was divorced the 1st week of June! The day of my hearing I was nervous and concerned because he was running late (he was in another court room). The judge asked me who was my attorney and I tell her, she responds: “oh don't worry, I know he's around here somewhere, he'll be here”. He has such an awesome rapport with the judges that they don't even mind waiting for him! Mr. Cripps possesses almost 40 years of experience. He knows what he's doing and does it at a reasonable price. If you want a young lawyer that's going to kiss your butt and charge you twice as much, then go for it. But if you want a guy with an established good rapport and who will get the job done, then trust Mr. Cripps is that attorney. Good luck and all the best!! P.S.
