Nellie L. King is the owner of The Law Offices of Nellie L. King, P.A. in West Palm Beach, Florida. Ms. King practices exclusively criminal defense work in state and federal courts and has handled thousands of complex criminal cases during her career.  Â

Ms. King is on the Executive Committee of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, where she currently serves as the Past President for this 2,000-member organization known as “Liberty’s Last Champion.” Ms. King is committed to the ideals espoused by FACDL, an organization which strives to advance the knowledge of criminal defense practitioners, promote the proper administration of criminal justice and encourage the integrity and independence of the criminal defense bar. Ms. King also currently serves on the Board of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and she is a Past President and Board Member of the Palm Beach Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Ms. King is a frequent lecturer on constituional and criminal law topics on the state and national level, and she is often consulted by the media for her opinions on legal issues attendant to high profile criminal cases.Â

Ms. King is also active in her local community, serving on the Board of Trustees of Boys’ Town South Florida, an organization committed to aiding at-risk youth and families in Florida through its extensive network of in-home family services and programs. Ms. King also served on the inaugural Board of the Women’s Foundation of Palm Beach County, an organization which invests in women and girls to encourage their leadership and positively affect their economic, political and social status. Ms. King has also been a Board Member of Leadership Palm Beach County since 2004 and served as the Adult Program Chair for the Class of 2008. Ms. King is also actively associated with the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches, the Women’s Chamber of Commerce, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers and the Palm Beach County Bar Association.     Â

Ms. King is admitted to practice in the Florida Bar, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.Â

Ms. King is a graduate of Mary Washington College (now the University of Mary Washington) in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where she majored in International Affairs/Russian Studies. Ms. King currently serves on the Alumni Board of Mary Washington and is the recipient of the 2012 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University for her significant achievements and contributions to the legal profession and community, as well as for her leadership contributions which serve to inspire the students of UMW.

After college, King then graduated from Nova Southeastern University Law School, where she won the Feinrider Moot Court Competition for her oratory skills, as well as various trial advocacy awards.   Â
