About Jonathan
Biography
Jonathan Blecher earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Florida in 1978 and conferred a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1981. Early in his career, Blecher prosecuted criminal cases ranging from DUI to attempted murder as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County. Following his public service, he became the senior trial attorney at Essen & Essen, P.A.. He has been licensed to practice before all Florida courts since 1982. Blecher is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals (Fifth and Eleventh Circuits), the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the Eastern District of Michigan. He's a member of the Federal Trial Bar. Blecher belongs to the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The National Assocation of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Florida Lawyer's Network, and has served as a Judge for the University of Miami Law School Moot Court and Mock Trial Competitions. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Blecher has given seminars instructing attorneys on DUI defense and delivered lectures on courtroom procedure for police officers at the Miami-Dade County Police Academy.
