Geannina (“Nina”) Burgos is a partner at Dabdoub Law Firm - a law firm dedicated to helping people get long-term disability benefits paid by insurance companies.

Ms. Burgos handles all aspects of disability claims on behalf of clients entitled to these insurance benefits through private/individual or group disability insurance policies. Dabdoub Law Firm represents people with disability claims, handles disability appeals of denied claims, and litigates wrongfully denied disability benefits. Ms. Burgos also represents individuals seeking to obtain long-term care benefits and life insurance benefits.  Ms. Burgos has experience litigating cases in both state and federal court against Prudential, United of Omaha, Northwestern Mutual, UNUM, Hartford, Aetna, CIGNA, Liberty Life, Lincoln Financial, Met Life, and other major disability insurance companies regarding the denial of long-term disability benefits. Ms. Burgos similarly advises clients on the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) particularly regarding long-term disability benefits.   

During law school, Ms. Burgos received numerous fellowships including from the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Florida Bar, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers (FAWL), the American Society of Public Administrators (ASPA), and the Ruden McClosky Foundation. She gained legal experience from a summer judicial clerkship under the Honorable Judge Barbara Lagoa of the Third District Court of Appeal. She participated in FIU College of Law’s Community Development Clinic and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Mediation.

Ms. Burgos is classically trained in ballet, flamenco, and modern dance and spent years in the non-profit arts education sector before becoming an attorney. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication and a Masters in Business Administration from Florida International University. She is fully fluent in Spanish.
