Richard D. Lara is the Managing Shareholder at Mase Lara focusing primarily on complex civil and commercial litigation, admiralty, and personal injury claims.
Mr. Lara has a broad range of legal experience successfully representing high net worth individuals and corporate clients regarding business disputes, Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, Whistleblower, Fraud, and arbitration claims.
Mr. Lara also has substantial experience with admiralty and general maritime litigation, including representation of major cruise lines investigating and handling sexual assault claims. He has also successfully defended several high-profile consumer and employment class action cases in both state and federal courts.
On behalf of ship owners and their P&I Club underwriters, Mr. Lara has investigated major accident claims throughout North America, South America, the Caribbean and Europe. Mr. Lara has appeared on local and internationally televised news programs to provide legal commentary. Mr. Lara is fluent in Spanish.
