Biography
Since 1982 I have represented individuals (US persons and foreign nationals) as well as entities who are under investigation or are being prosecuted by the state or federal government, locally, nationally and internationally. I also defend forfeiture actions, administratively and in state and federal courts. Since 1990, I have been board certified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in criminal trial law. Since 1989 I have been an adjunct professor of law at The University of Miami School of Law teaching criminal law in the Litigation Skills Department. My goal is to always be the most effective lawyer I can be.
Currently, I am specializing in white collar defense of individuals and entities under investigation or prosecution for fraud, money laundering, foreign corrupt practices act violations, drug trafficking, tax evasion and other high-level investigations and prosecutions. I have had the opportunity to try dozens of jury trials and represent hundreds of individuals in every conceivable type of criminal matter in state and federal courts, locally and nationally.
More recently, I have successfully represented IRS whistleblowers, collecting multi-million-dollar awards for his clients. Bob’s practice has also included defending individuals in criminal matters with international implications, including the FIFA investigation and prosecution, Swiss Banking tax evasion cases, the Brazilian “car wash” bribery investigation and the International Olympic Committee bribery investigation.
To sum it up, I represent high net worth individuals who find themselves in the unenviable position of being on the wrong side of the law and in need of vigorous defense, regardless of the size or nature of the alleged offense.
