Shawn Reid

There’s not enough I can say about Shawn. He’s been a man of blunt honesty when it came to my divorce/custody case 4 years ago when I was living in Canada. It was a long shot at best. He worked diligently and aggressively to secure what was in my sons best interest and we ended up settling out of cou...rt. Then came my custody modification. Due to issues raised by my son, Shawn filed for modification of time sharing. I live out of the state of Florida, so again my circumstance was unique. He worked with me at great lengths to build a strong case. I sit here today, 4 years after contacting Mr Reid, and we got a voluntary termination of parental rights. If you’re looking for an extremely knowledgeable attorney, someone who won’t waste your time and resources just to get $$, and someone who cares for you and your family... then I can recommend Shawn enough.

I am reposting this review, because Avvo initially approved this and then took it down, so I will try to adhere to the review guidelines. Please note that the initial review was dated from July 2014. Mr. Reid did not do a good job representing us. He told us things that were not true. For example, he... stated that we, the grandparents of the child, could gain custody of the child, over the biological parents. After we paid for Mr. Reid's services and went to court the judge immediately dismissed the case. Also Mr. Reid refused to return any of our phone calls (far less for our money). Therefore, for his lack of knowledge and questionable work ethics, I cannot recommend Mr. Reid to anyone.

You want an attorney who knows the ins and outs of representing you from a legal standpoint especially when it concerns your child/children. With his ongoing education he makes it appoint to be ahead of the game he works with the judges and studies the practices to make the best judgement. He's been ...a prosecutor so he understands each side he's witnessed a lot. Most importantly I would recommend anyone to see him for the simple fact that he makes informed decisions on your behalf. He does not in any way submit motions under which are not supported. In other words he won't send you into the court room looking like a dummy. I have already sent a client his way, matter of fact and I presume they will too be just as satisfied as I was with his services. When you get involved in a legal matter it's never anything we feel comfortable doing and that is why you need to have Shawn by your side.
