I was very disappointed in the care or interest in my divorce case. I was promised top quality legal advice but found that I had to explain items such as IRA distributions to her. I felt that anything the opposing counsel was saying was completely correct and accurate and that I was an unknowing in...competent. To make it worse, she asked for a support order, that she was pretty sure I wouldn’t get, and the judge awarded me more than my council had asked for! I asked for a package divorce deal instead of monthly support, which is something that was never presented to opposing counsel or to the judge. I will never collect my 10 years of support, my husband is 80. Carmen also did not request that I be kept as beneficiary of life insurance policies, which I had paid on for over 30 years, for my husband, in case of his death. Those policies are worth over $400,000 which can now be given over to the “new girl”. I could go on, but I hate to think about the entire situation, and how I ended up, because of what I fell was a lack of fighting attitude. Would not, and have not recommended.

Dissatisfied, empty promises

Carmen Tankersley misrepresented me 4 yrs ago. Still regret her legal advise as she did nothing to assist me in my divorce. Carmen kept advising me to pay everything outstanding (even though my ex would be responsible) and that I would be “reimbursed in the end” Did not happen! There were so many er...rors on her part that I ended up on the stand being cross examined by my ex husbands attorney! Time ran out & she should have known the time limitations therefore was unable to cross examine him, Carmen acted as though she did not realize the time allotment for mediation. Totally disappointed!! Waste of money for the lack of service I received. Beware

Expensive

Gave poor advice which turned on me, promised the world and did not deliver. Made everything much worse. Super expensive, lots of bark no bight. Beware she only wants your money!!!

I am sorry that you feel you did not have a good experience. Unfortunately, I am not able to properly address your claims, since you have chosen to post anonymously. Generally speaking, I can say that I do not make any promises of an outcome (no attorney can). I can only promise that I will work diligently on behalf of my client - so long as they cooperate and fund my efforts. I am well known for my knowledge, experience, and wisdom in the area of family law. So, it is hard to imagine that I gave you poor advice, especially since I don't have any clients to whom this claim could apply. As far as being expensive, I work very hard to ensure that my client's only pay what is necessary to effectively litigate/resolve their legal matter. My years of experience and strategic approach afford a level of efficiency to my work that actually often times saves my client's money.
