About me

I graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL with an honors degree in Foreign Languages and English Literature. I then attended University of Miami Law School and joined the Florida Bar in 1996. I then joined the Office of the State Attorney in Orange County, FL where I worked for 3 years as an Assistant State Attorney, trying all types of criminal cases, including juvenile, DUI, theft, battery, domestic violence, aggravated battery, sexual crimes, stalking, manslaughter and murder.
I then became a founding partner of Jacobson, McClean, Chmelir & Ferwerda, where we specialize in criminal law, state and federal, and family law. We started the firm 13 years ago, during which time I have handled hundreds of divorces, paternity cases, child custody matters, child support hearings and modification proceedings. I have represented spouses seeking division of family corporate businesses, complex custody and relocation trials and out of state actions.
