Amanda graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL with an honors degree in Foreign Languages and English Literature. In 1996, Amanda earned my law degree at the University of Miami Law School and joined the Florida Bar in 1996. Amanda, along with her law partners, became a prosecutor at the Office of the State Attorney in Orange County, FL in 1996, as an Assistant State Attorney, trying all types of criminal cases, including juvenile, DUI, theft, battery, domestic violence, aggravated battery, sexual crimes, stalking, manslaughter and murder.

In 1999, Amanda became a founding partner of Jacobson, McClean, Chmelir & Ferwerda, now JC&F , specializing in family law (divorce, paternity & child support) and criminal defense. In the past 17 years, Amanda and the firm has successfully represented hundreds of divorces, paternity cases, child custody matters, child support hearings and modification proceedings, in addition to hundreds of criminal defendants.

Amanda’s representation focuses on skill, preparation and an aggressive resolution for her clients. Whether in mediation or in the courtroom, Amanda ensures her clients receive the highest level of communication, legal advice and legal action.

Paternity case

Amanda Jacobson is an amazing Attorney and having her on side was the best decision. She was prompt, thorough, and worked so hard to make sure we had everything in place for Trial. She always made time to talk to me if I had questions and to make sure I was aware and up on every move she made. I am very happy with her and her practice! In the end we won! Very satisfied.

Best of the best

Family law modifications are not always black and white. They can be messy, and stressful. We hired Amanda & not only was she prompt on all responses she was honest , kind & empathetic. Her years of knowledge in family law were quickly observed & we knew we made the right choice. She laid out our options & provided guidance whenever it was needed. She didn’t tell us what we wanted to hear, she told us facts based on the law. Communication was clear & prompt. A Lawyer with a Heart of Gold

Amanda helped me with a few issues post divorce. This time we were dealing with a parent who had used a college savings account for the other sibling. While we didn't end up having to go to court, Amanda was able to assist me so that the younger sibling received the majority of the funds she should have had in her colleges savings account. Amanda has a heart of gold. She fights for you because she genuinely cares about you and your family. Amanda knows what it takes to get you the best possible outcome. I whole heartedly recommend Amanda and would absolutely use her again.

Great support during an extremely difficult time

Needless to say I am not sure divorce is ever easy, but mine was extremely difficult and Amanda gave me the support and advice I needed to help me through. She was always extremely honest and forthcoming about what to expect, even when it was not easy to hear or accept, but I appreciated not having unrealistic expectations through out the process. She fought hard for me and helped achieve an outcome that I could get behind, and was really great with dealing with my anxiety and stress during the time we worked together. She and her paralegal Michelle really helped me get through the duration of the process. I am thankful I had Amanda and her office on my side.

Look No Further!!

We retained services when my husband was falsely identified in a hit and run case. The entire process was kept professional and stress free for us!
