Amanda graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL with an honors degree in Foreign Languages and English Literature. In 1996, Amanda earned my law degree at the University of Miami Law School and joined the Florida Bar in 1996. Amanda, along with her law partners, became a prosecutor at the Office of the State Attorney in Orange County, FL in 1996, as an Assistant State Attorney, trying all types of criminal cases, including juvenile, DUI, theft, battery, domestic violence, aggravated battery, sexual crimes, stalking, manslaughter and murder.
In 1999, Amanda became a founding partner of Jacobson, McClean, Chmelir & Ferwerda, now JC&F , specializing in family law (divorce, paternity & child support) and criminal defense. In the past 17 years, Amanda and the firm has successfully represented hundreds of divorces, paternity cases, child custody matters, child support hearings and modification proceedings, in addition to hundreds of criminal defendants.
Amanda’s representation focuses on skill, preparation and an aggressive resolution for her clients. Whether in mediation or in the courtroom, Amanda ensures her clients receive the highest level of communication, legal advice and legal action.
From spouses seeking division of family corporate businesses, complex custody, relocation cases and out of state actions, Amanda and her firm has the resources and skills to ensure that your interests are fully protected.
In criminal cases, Amanda offers the same skilled experience, recognized by her clients for almost two decades. As a former prosecutor, Amanda is able to immediately evaluate her clients’ defenses and offer a strategy to answer the evidence offered against them. From complex federal conspiracies to a simple misdemeanor, Amanda’s experience and knowledge enable her to aggressively defend her clients in any criminal matter.
