Not Recommended

I wouldn't recommend this attorney based on my experience. She didn't focus on my case, many mistakes were made, and it went on way too long.

Family law

Amanda made herself available at all hours, but I feel she dragged the case on and did not want us to try to settle.... In the best of the moment I didn’t see it would have been possible to work with the other party and it felt like the opposite should have been happened. When my ex was being reason...able on some issues Amanda still encouraged me to fight her because she said we could win on the issue... We didn’t always and things got twisted around often. Looking back it made things worse long-term and more expensive.

I am so sorry to read this. First, you chose to be anonymous so I have no idea how to even respond. Why didn't you contact me and choose this as a forum to complain? I have a great relationship with 99% of my clients. While I am not sure this is even real, it doesn't matter, so I will respond. I try to be always available for my clients and analyze their cases accurately for them in the beginning and as we progress. I am a mediator, as well as a litigator, and always encourage reasonable resolution. I have never encouraged a client to litigate when they want to accept a resolution. When I do litigate, it is because there is no other option. Despite all the preparation and skill, I cannot control every outcome. Every case is different and I can't even respond about your case because your are anonymous. If you really are a prior client, call me and lets discuss. Thank you.

Horrible

Hired as attorney for criminal case. Unpunctual, unprofessional and a waste of money. She was 30 minutes late to our first meeting, did not keep me informed on my case unless I pulled the information out of her, and showed up to my trial with a sweater and unbrushed hair (Every other attorney was in ...AT LEAST a button down). Terrible experience.

Unfortunately, I cannot even respond properly due to having absolutely no idea who you are. This appears to be spam. My most recent criminal trial was in federal court, and the client still keeps in contact. A sweater and unbrushed hair? Funny. Give me a call whoever you are, and stop spamming me on Avvo.

Never responds back to client

This lawyer has been horrible about returning phone calls, explaining next steps and meeting with me in a timely manner. She is unprofessional, and a waste of money. A complete disappointment. Look elsewhere for a divorced lawyer if you want to get divorced in a timely manner!!!! Do not recommend!!

I am so sorry to read this review; it appears to be from a client consultation, not someone I represented. I do wish this person had left their name, so that I could have addressed their concerns. I provide my clients my cell phone number, significant meeting time (even after hours), and open email access. My paralegal is always available to assist if I am in trial or mediation. I take my cases seriously, and this comment is very disturbing to me and my staff. Many divorce cases resolve in 3-5 months, so getting a final judgment in a timely manner is our norm (though I cannot control the Courts’ schedule or opposing counsel). I hope whoever wrote this will make an appointment to advise me face to face where my representation has fallen short of our high standards.

"I have mediated numerous times for Ms. Jacobson. She represents her clients in a zealous manner. She knows the finer points of law and is able to easily identify practical solutions to even the most complicated family law cases. At all times, she really listens to her client and if at any time Ms. Jacobson even suspects that the client does not fully and completely understand each issue, she stops the entire process and ensures the client understands and is able to fully participate in the mediation. Ms. Jacobson is very experienced in trial court if mediation does not result in an Agreement. I endorse this attorney."
