Sabina Tomshinsky

I had a post-divorce matter arise because of the incompetence of the lawyer who handled my divorce. I reached out to Sabina and was desperate at the time because my ex-husband totally disregarded our settlement agreement. Sabina was patient and kind, but also ready to fight on my behalf. I was bereft... and Sabina took the time to explain to me the issues with my settlement agreement, what issues we could reasonably litigate, and which ones I would have to accept were not enforceable. The not enforceable parts were because I got duped into thinking I did not need an attorney for my divorce in the first place because my ex-husband and I were "amicable." I honestly felt like Sabina and her entire team took my case personally as though it was happening to them, and I know this is the way Sabina approaches all of her cases/clients. Sabina is a fighter for justice for her clients. I felt heard, supported, and I knew I was in expert hands. Sabina is a vigorous advocate, a fighter for justice, is laser sharp with the ability to identify critical issues that left me financially liable that were missed in my divorce. I never would have known without her help but it could have been avoided if I retained her to handle my divorce in the first place! Most importantly, Sabina does not give up. If she isn't sure of something, she will research it. I really appreciated everything she did for me. Another important consideration in retaining an attorney is that Sabina was not going to let me spend thousands of dollars on issues that could not be litigated. I needed that perspective and guidance, like most clients do in divorce/post-dissolution proceedings, because we are emotional rather than logical. It was hard to swallow at times but I trusted her and her expertise implicitly. She was correct 10/10 times. The take home message is YES you DO NEED your own lawyer in every divorce, no matter how "amicable" you think it is, and Sabina IS the lawyer you need. Don't let the other side retain her; get there first! I should share that I work in the legal field as an expert witness so I work with a LOT of attorneys. Most attorneys are mediocre, at best. A lot are simply horrible. There are precious few Sabina's out there and I am so grateful I found her and that she took my case. This is long overdue, but thank you so much, Sabina and Home Town Law Team!

Where do I begin? I have so many incredible things to say about Sabina Tomshinsky and her Hometown Law Firm. I did my fair share of "lawyer shopping" even going so far as to secure one who I was convinced was just padding the clock and we were not on the same page at all! I can assure you I am far... from being a difficult client but happily they returned my retainer in full! That brought me to Sabina and I can't even remember that other lawyer's name! I was given an initial consultation which went well over my allotted time but, I knew immediately my search had ended. From the moment I met Sabina and her wonderful staff, Sherri and Joyce, I felt so comfortable in spite of a very difficult legal situation. I cannot imagine Sabina not making anyone feel comfortable and as if you were her only client. She is so intuitive, focused, humorous, energetic, empathetic and knowledgeable. She goes the distance to listen and actually hears what you, the client, has to say and then goes above and beyond to ensure that she has achieved the best outcome legally for you as her client. Sabina and her staff were right on top of everything from the beginning. Just as they had promised, the documents were delivered to me in a most expeditious manner. Joyce and Sherri were very concerned throughout for me and my situation and took time to talk with me every single visit to the office without fail. I knew they were so busy but they stopped to care. I have come to feel Sabina and Hometown Law are friends who really care and were there to guide me through the legal quagmire of divorce. I put my total trust into them so I could survive a very depressing situation. I can happily say the outcome was not what we intended as my husband and I reconciled days before appearing before the Judge. We asked Sabina to dismiss the Petition and she did so without reservation and as anticipated, the document was ready almost immediately. I wholeheartedly would recommend Sabina and Hometown Law without any reservation for your legal needs. I actually will miss them. They truly are amazing.

I could have not asked for someone better to represent me during this time of my life. I was represented better than I could have ever imagined. Divorce is so scary and overwhelming and the information I received from Sabina was immensely valuable. I could not have gone through this process without her. She was respectful of how I wanted to handle the situation and agreed that I knew the other party best. I appreciated this most. She was ...very honest and practical about the process, what to expect in different scenarios, and provided advisement on how to handle those situations. She emphasized "agreement" which I felt was very commendable. No one wins and it will not be perfect. Having an attorney who kept me on target with my own decision making was paramount. Be weary of attorneys who say they can "win" and "beat the other party." Again, no one wins and especially when you have children, which I did...you need to stay as civil as possible and keep them first. Sabina emphasized this. The law is complicated and I would not recommend anyone go through a divorce without some type of legal advisement. Sabina was informative, professional, and very quick to respond. I realized I was getting so much advice from helpful family and friends; however, they did not understand the law. I would find myself feeling confused and scared about a decision or what to do next. Once I communicated with Sabina and received her answer...I felt at ease and blocked out all of the other noise. People mean well and want to help you through this process; however, you need a competent legal advisor who can tell you the facts and that for me was Sabina!
