Closed My Complaint Despite Inspector General Confirming No Service Records and Missing Clerk Audit Trails

I filed a formal complaint with The Florida Bar regarding serious attorney misconduct arising from my civil litigation case. From my first interaction with ACAP Director Shanell Schuyler, I was treated dismissively. During our initial phone call, she hung up the call, told me I was not permitted to c...all, and directed that all future communication be made in writing. When I later submitted a written complaint about her handling of the matter, she reopened files that had previously been delayed for months. My grievance involved documented procedural misconduct, including an “emergency” motion that admitted it was not an emergency, service instructions inserted into a withdrawal order without lawful e-service registration, and the absence of any Clerk-maintained audit trail confirming service. The Clerk’s Court Operations Manager and the Inspector General both confirmed in writing that no system logs or service records exist for the relevant period. Despite these written findings, the Bar closed my complaint by recharacterizing it as a “personal injury” matter rather than addressing the documented procedural failures I reported. After I submitted a Standing Board Policy review request with new findings, I received notice that any further correspondence from me regarding the matter would be placed in the file without response. This was stated even though new documentary evidence had emerged from the Clerk’s Office confirming the absence of service records. In my experience, the intake process did not reflect neutrality or meaningful review of documented evidence. Instead of addressing the substance of the complaint, the matter was reframed and closed while new written findings were disregarded. I cannot recommend this intake handling process to individuals seeking thorough oversight of attorney conduct involving procedural irregularities confirmed by official records.

A

This lawyer refused to addressed a white lawyer that lied in court about me talking to my kids and my husband and a safety plan was put in place and I provided all the evidence and knowing the damage that has caused myself and my kids she worked in the same field as the dcf lawyer and to continue t...o let Mrs Barren to misuse her position to lie in family court and not to act shows favoritism and towards the white lawyer that remain un punished for lying she worse then the lawyer because she has delayed investigating this matter because I'm sure she going to say Mrs Barren didn't do anything wrong so I can let the high court review my complaint and then she if they feel that this attorney working for the bar grievances intake handle it correctly
