Michael Larkin MacNamara

Michael L. MacNamara, B.C.S., is a Tallahassee Criminal Defense Attorney who is Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law and licensed to practice law in Florida. Mr. MacNamara is a Tallahassee native and an experienced litigator that began working on litigation matters in law school. After law school, he worked briefly at a civil litigation firm in Jacksonville, Florida, before moving back home to Tallahassee to work in the Public Defender’s Office, where he represented indigent criminal defendants charged with misdemeanors and felonies. At the Public Defender’s Office, Mr. MacNamara represented hundreds of clients and conducted dozens of jury trials and a handful of non-jury trials. Mr. MacNamara is one of fewer than 500 attorneys licensed to practice law in Florida that is Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law, and one of a handful of Tallahassee Criminal Defense Attorneys with that certification.

After the Public Defender’s Office, Mr. MacNamara went to work at a local civil litigation firm where he handled Civil Rights Act cases, focusing on employment discrimination and police misconduct in state and federal court. In May 2016, Mr. MacNamara founded his solo practice at The MacNamara Law Firm, P.A., to represent clients in criminal cases and clients in lawsuits against law enforcement agencies where the client’s civil rights were violated. Mr. MacNamara also handles general civil litigation matters.
