Biography
Whitney Brummett is an experienced criminal trial lawyer who has defended over a thousand criminal cases since being licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and the State of Missouri. She has also taken more than twenty cases to trial in Leon County. She comes to Anabelle Dias P.A. from the Public Defender’s Office of the Second Judicial Circuit, where she tried cases ranging from misdemeanor and traffic offenses to punishable-by-life felonies.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Whitney attended Florida State University on an athletic scholarship. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and minors in Business Administration and History in 2008. Whitney was a member of the FSU Women’s Golf Team from 2004 to 2008, and she represented the Seminoles in the ACC Championship and NCAA National Championship tournaments, among others.
Whitney graduated cum laude with a J.D. from the Florida State University College of Law in 2012. While attending FSU Law she was a member of the prestigious Moot Court Team which competes around the country in written and oral advocacy competitions. Whitney and her partner won a National Championship in 2012 in Albany, New York at the Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition hosted by Albany Law School.
Whitney is an active member of the local legal community. She serves on the board of the local chapter of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL) and is a member of Tallahassee Women Lawyers. She was also a member of the inaugural “Thunderdome Tallahassee” class, which provides leadership and family law training to local attorneys while representing clients pro bono. In her free time, Whitney enjoys golf, FSU sporting events, spending time with friends and family, and playing with her dog.
