I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with the Law Office of Samuel E. Thomas. From the start, I was promised a certain level of service, but nothing was delivered as expected. The lawyer I initially signed up with was nowhere to be found throughout my case—I never met them in p...erson, and they didn’t even bother to show up to court. Instead, I was passed around to different people who seemed completely unprepared and unfamiliar with my case. Despite multiple attempts to get updates or clarity on my situation, communication was terrible. Phone calls went unanswered, emails were ignored, and when I did get a response, it was vague and unhelpful. Nothing got accomplished, and I felt like my case was not a priority at all. To make matters worse, when court dates came around, the lawyer who was supposed to represent me didn’t even show up. This left me scrambling and unprepared, which was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I trusted this firm to handle my legal matter, but instead, I was left feeling abandoned and misled. I would not recommend the Law Office of Samuel E. Thomas to anyone. If you need a lawyer who will actually show up, communicate, and fight for you, look elsewhere. This firm completely failed to do its job, and I regret ever hiring them. ⸻

With this divorce attorney, you are on an assembly line of divorces without the appropriate level of focus and attention to detail that is needed for one's case. Attorney no-show severely impacted initial divorce hearing as he had to cover additional cases from his partner who went on vacation. A...ttorney blamed the judge for not accepting his last minute reschedule request instead of taking accountability for his firms poor planning. In other words, their vacation is more important than your case. Attorney did not make useful recommendations in divorce agreement which have led to complications after signing impacting visitation. Get an attorney with a reasonable case load that has the dedicated time, experience and passion for your case.

Worst attorney in the world. I almost lost my child because of him. He did absolutely nothing, and presented none of the evidence we had. HE FELL ASLEEP IN THE COURT ROOM. He finally withdrew from the case after he destroyed it. The case was in nov. 2015. It is now nov. 2018 and I still don’t have cu...stody of my child.

Mr. Thomas let the opposing attorney completely run the show and came unprepared to mediation. He didn't get the discovery until the night before mediation and therefore had little to no time to review it and formulate a plan. Later found out the opposing party had made shifts and adjustment to finan...ces that could have been picked up had there been a thorough review of the documents in the discovery. Even though I expressed my extreme discomfort with going to mediation without having had time to go through the documents in the discovery, Mr. Thomas pushed to do so, and the end result was awful. I should have known from the beginning when he joked with me about doing so poorly in law school after getting in (seriously, he said that).

I am so disappointed in the outcome of a divorce that Mr. Thomas handled for a family member. When he would return calls, which was rare, he went over old information for actions that had been promised months before. After submitting financial statements to him several times he still neglected to pre...sent it to the judge. This led to a monthly child support payment of $1400, which is yet to be resolved. He never was clear on dates of hearings, resulting in my family member completely missing one of the hearings. This was a no fault divorce. Mr Thomas had information that could have ended the case fairly for both parties. Instead I felt as if he didn't do anything he promised. After a two year long case, for which we longed for an ending to, Mr. Thomas failed to show up to the final hearing and advised my family member not to speak without him present. The judge was pretty upset that Mr. Thomas wasn't there and made a final decision mostly in favor for the plaintiff. The plaintiff was in contempt through much of the case and although he promised to file contempt paperwork against them, he never did so. I have never written a bad review against anyone. Although on a personal level Mr. Thomas is a nice guy, he was a disappointment for our family who wanted to see fairness for our family member, who is a disabled veteran and gets most of their money from a partial disability rating. I feel as if Mr. Thomas is very distracted by his personal life and in no way should be representing people unless he can give them his very best, which our family did NOT receive! If you are going through one of the hardest times in your life, an unfortunate divorce, I advise you to reconsider putting all your trust and money into this attorney!
