As someone who loves words, I have to admit that I first just liked saying "Conowal Law" in an announcer’s voice. But after the scheduled consultation with Chris, I immediately felt at ease in hiring him to handle my divorce case. At the consultation, he explained the basics of uncontested vs contest...ed cases, was transparent about costs, and listened as I explained my specific situation. I realized during this initial meeting that the ease of manner I see in him is the result of years of experience as an attorney (including years of service as a mediator), and I remember thinking that this guy understands the gist of my case because he's handled so many cases, that he saw a clear path forward where I just saw brambles. I imagine Chris has seen so many variations upon the theme of marital distress and has developed such a keen awareness of type over his years of practicing law that he can handle a divorce case somewhat like a chess game once he sees the layout. He guided me through the timeline, the paperwork (like the super fun financial affidavit), the proposals and counter-proposals, the TPO I ended up needing, the mediation, and throughout it all, the steps I was allowed or not allowed to take, such as adding interior slide latches for security at night before I was able to change knobs and locks after the TPO. Chris also offers multiple methods of contact - phone, email, an online portal, a text messaging service. I literally showed up when the office opened the morning after a concerning incident occurred involving my ex-spouse and was able to talk on the phone with Chris within minutes so he could explain things I needed to do that day so as to avoid sleeping in a hotel another night with my two children. During the mediation, Chris’s confident and direct communication made it easy for me not to be sidelined by the emotions of the case, and once a settlement was reached, I left his office feeling something I never expected to feel in that moment - content. For real, if I ever find out that someone is in need of a lawyer for the same reason I was, I will most definitely recommend Chris Conowal.

Chris represented me in a such a superb fashion that I can only attempt to briefly describe the experience. First of all, he is brilliant--no one should try to outsmart him. Secondly, Chis is very caring and personable--it was always a pleasant experience to discuss anything about my case including... the personal side. Thirdly, and maybe most important, is that he wins and he doesn't waste a lot of time doing so. A critical part of his team is his assistant, Diane. She was always there at any time for any thing, including one specific occasion that she went way, way beyond the call of duty to avoid a potential bump in the road. Chris is a star. Chris is a lawyer who doesn't pull any punches. He will tell you worst case scenarios about what you could be facing in your case. That may be scary but it’s so much better than being blindsided in the courtroom. I had a traumatic experience where my kindness of giving a stranger a ride home lead to ...me being sexually assaulted. I was lucky enough to get the man out of my car but as I frantically drove off and tried to turn around on a skinny road in the middle of the night, I found myself stuck in a ditch. Real fear started to set in after calling my sixth tow truck with no luck. At that point I became extremely upset and literally begged the next tow truck driver to help me by explaining that I had just been assaulted. As I waited for the tow truck driver to arrive, I was met by two police officers. The tow truck driver called the police thinking he was helping me. Long story short the man was charged with sexual assault, and I was charged with DUI after admitting to having a couple of drinks that evening. On the advice of Chris, I completed the risk reduction class, drug and alcohol evaluation and 40 hours of community service before going to court. I was also prepared to pay all fines the day of court. Chris was able to use that to help eliminate my DUI charge, negotiate a lesser charge that isn't on my permanent record, he kept my license from being suspended and kept me off probation. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome following one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I learned two very valuable and hard lessons that night. I truly couldn't be any more grateful to Chris for helping me weather this storm. It was a great feeling knowing that I was in good hands with a lawyer who truly cared about me and the outcome of my case.

Chris Conowal is a giant in his field. He fought my Goliath and won. Chris took my case without hesitation even though it had already been a very long and complicated divorce case. I just wished I had found him in the beginning. My case went all the way up to the appellant court and even became ca...se law. In the third year of an almost 6-year divorce, Chris picked up the ball and ran with it. Within, a short time he knew my case inside and out. Chris represented me in a jury trial and brought a victorious closure to a very long process. He fought for me like no one else had ever fought. Chris Conowal was outstanding in court! Chris knew my case so well and put his heart into everything he brought before the court. Chris Conowal was the only reason that I will get to see my kids this Christmas. My wife an I had an argument, she sought assistance from a women's advocacy group who convinced her to trump up a TPO even though no act of family violence occurred. This stripped away my rights unilaterally. I was unabl...e to see my kids, have use of the marital home, they took my guns, and I could not come within 500 yards of her or the home. It made my life miserable for a month. Chris listened to me. He listened to my goals and my desire to save my marriage, in spite of the TPO. He walked the fine line between defending me in court, and not ruining my marriage with a nasty court case. It was impressive to watch. He and his staff were professional and very well prepared. They were like watching a team that had worked together forever. Chris was precise in his craft, and excelled in his lines of questioning and how he positioned his arguments.
