HIRE LOCAL !!!

I'm a 53 yr old man who was pulled over on a false kidnapping accusation from a woman on the way back to Atlanta from a nice beach trip to Savannah. Unbeknownst to me she had filed a restraining order against me, saying that she lived at my residence in family domestic violence court. However I h...ad not been served. So, on the way back from Savannah, she made a duress call via text to 911. An APB went out over 3 counties looking for a kidnapping suspect. I was stopped in Bulloch County, which is the home of Georgia Southern University, in a 6 cruiser felony stop, thrown to the ground and arrested. The bodycam footage of my arrest and the harridan who falsely accused me of kidnapping to steal my apartment via restraining order is really something men should watch to see how far some people will go to screw a person, even if that person is honestly trying to help them. I was thrown to the ground, without resisting, just trying not to lose my prescription glasses, falling off my face as I was put in the backseat of the deputies truck in handcuffs. I asked the Deputy what was I being charged with, and he said he didn't know, they would tell me at booking. Bodycam footage revealed they were intending to write it up as a DUI, though no officer even asked me if I had anything to drink. When I got to booking, I asked what charge, and they still didn't know, they were waiting to hear from a Bulloch County investigator working with Savannah police to see if they should charge me with kidnapping or something. When it came back that there was no kidnapping, they decided to charge me with minor weed possession, for weed found in the trunk and paraphernalia in the harridan's bag, shown on bodycam. I bailed out after 28 hours in jail for this BS, avoiding any further attempts to question me. Invoke 5th amendment right to remain silent. Once out of jail and back to Atlanta, the harridan had me served a restraining order while she was partying with friends of mine that were not fully aware of what had just gone down. I was banned from my apartment for 8 days until the TPO hearing, when I explained what happened to the judge, and he dismissed the TPO request. When I got my home back, I found she had gone through all my things and took what she liked. She didn't clean me out or anything, though. But it cost a lot. I find Scott Brannen on Avvo, because he's got 30+ years of experience local to Bullouch County. We had some challenging conversations around strategy and timing, but Scott was patient, listened to all my concerns, offered his advice and experience, and kept pressing as I chafed at what I saw as incomplete discovery to settle. As the discovery came in drip by drip, it painted a picture of the police trying to make sense of all these law enforcement resources being devoted to a fake kidnapping charge (in text to 911 while she and I were driving back to Atlanta. Once Scott got the highlight reel of those bodycam video files, and showed the prosecutors, they wanted nothing to do with it. The charge on weed possession was dismissed and I was recharged with an open container $153 fine and case terminates once paid, everything sealed from the record. I literally could not have gotten a better outcome on what started out as a false kidnapping accusation, turned into less than a speeding ticket, so the prosecutors can preserve their 99% win rate. Scott was diligent on the discovery, and has the ability to negotiate without stepping on toes. He has 30 yrs experience with all the players in Bulloch County State Court, and knows how yo get results for his clients. Scott got me the best possible outcome, and my reputation is secure, after what the Sherriff on the bodycam summed up as a 'sh!tshow'. HIRE LOCAL!!! Thank you Scott for a job well done. You are among the best I've hire

Liar/Rude

When i first met with mr.scott i thought he was the one. He told me my charges will be dropped. Later on he tells me 6 months of probation, then after that it went to charges being dropped again, then after that it turned out to be 3 months of probation. His assistant Juiley is also very rude. Everyt...ime i called to get hold of mr. scott she would tell me in a rude manner leave them alone and then hung up.

Stay away

Mr. Brannen helped me with my case initially and was ok at the time, and if you'd ask me back then my review would've been different. However, after yesterday's encounter, I would need to definately change that. The appointment was made over a week ago, yet they did not have my case file on site. ...When asked why it wasn't there the general manager, began screaming at my father saying she wasn't going to drive 15 miles for a file, well he just drove over 200 to be here for this appointment. There was a screaming match in the office. She was taunting us saying things like, " ha well he's not going to represent you anyway, ha ha" as if she were two years old. She told us to shut up, told the secretary not to talk to us, and more all while screaming. But she's supposed to be the office manager! The woman and the secretary both were VERY unprofessional. She then lied to Mr Brannen about multiple things to ensure that he wouldn't hear my case. Following this, Mr Brannen proceeds to come get us from the waiting area, however he was VERY rude as well. And when we try to make a complaint about his staff he won't listen. Now, how are you my representation yet won't listen to me? Oh, ok. We sit in his office and he tells us something completely different than what we were told from the beginning regarding the case. I would NOT recommend these people to ANYONE, EVER, under any circumstance! I'm sure they'll delete this review anyway though, but yea.

Replied last July 19, 2015

This person was a former client whose case I handled very successfully several years ago. She came back wanting me to do something improper, which I of course refused to do. Having been very satisfied with my representation years ago, she came back. Except this time she insisted I do something I would not do, hence her angry post. My ethics and morals are very high, and I maintain a strong standard to do what's right. In this situation, my integrity called me to decline handling a new matter. I regret that she chooses an open anonymous forum to try to defame me, but I know my decision not to represent her again was the proper thing to do. --Scott Brannen

Trustworthy &

Mr. Brannen represented me in my DUI case and got it thrown out of court for an improper stop. He was very professional and explained the entire process to me during our first consultation meeting. In our original consultation meeting he stressed that he would exert his best effort and provide one-on...-one attention to my case. He is a very trustworthy lawyer and did everything he told me he would. Most of all his knowledge of DUI law and the court process put my mind at ease when I was so stressed about my future. After meeting with him I could tell that he knew exactly what he was doing and would give me the best outcome for my case. I would recommend Scott to any of my friends and family if they ever needed representation.
