Did not show for court

I hired Chad Trentacosta for a criminal offense, not only did he not show up at court on date set, he "talked" me through what I should "tell" the clerk. The "talk through" got me a trial on next court date. Luckily he had one of his colleagues show up on next court date on his behalf and I got out o...f the set trial (colleague got judge to agree to set new date and take off trial). I would not recommend Chad Trentacosta to anyone. I signed contract with his colleague that day, my case has run smoothly since.

Unfortunately, clients get upset when they think you are working for them for free and you don't. Obviously, after reading this posting, it was obvious I was even nice enough to send a friend of mine to see if you can meet his minimum price standards. Because I have a significant track record of beating cases, my fee is appropriate. Next time you say you retain an attorney, make sure you get a contract and a receipt of payment, because in this situation, you weren't even a client, you were a phone call that waited a day before the court date to say you didn't have any money. You are lucky I was nice enough to refer someone to you, however, after speaking with him, you didn't seem to pay him either.

NOT IMPRESSED WITH TRENTACOSTA

I was fighting a criminal case of shoplifting. Prior to this I had never been charged with a crime not even a traffic violation. I'm very clean with no criminal past. I hired Chad Trentacosta because I wasn't guilty of the crime and I wanted this nightmare to end. Mr. Trentacosta arrived late to EVER...Y court appointment I had. Once he didn't even show up saying only that he was in court with another client which is unprofessional being that I was his client as well. The last time I appeared in court his associate showed up and she seemed to have little interest or knowledge of my case. She kept insisting that I plead guilty to the charge just to "get it over with". He neglected to keep me informed about what would ultimately happen on my case. I felt blindsided and I ended up on probation although Mr. Trentacosta and the solicitor said that nothing was on the tape to show me shoplifting. I could have fought the case on my own and ended up with the same or better results. I honestly feel like I wasted my money on his services and I would never recommend him to anyone. I am writing this because I actually reviewed him on this site and many people gave him high recommendations but after hiring him and being a client I am truthful saying that I am not impressed by him and for me he wasn't a good attorney.

Unfortunately, in this industry, there are many situations that arise that may not go well in court. Everyone who is a client of mine knows how much I care about their case and the results thereof. We try our best to get the best results possible. Because we give the same respect to all of our clients, I may from time to time be required to appear in a different county prior to an individuals court date so therefore, I may be late. I'm sorry you are unhappy with the result, but as a first offender, you are completely unaware of how this system works and how much we actually saved your record and other important factors. Criminal defense is a difficult area of law being that these are serious situations. Again, I'm sorry you were unhappy with how the court adjudicated you guilty, but sometimes its not worth risking a trial. We didn't force you to plea guilty, we just negotiated the best outcome for your case as we do with all of our cases. I'm sorry I didn't call you every week, however, the end result is what we are focused on, and sometimes the client needs to contact us to ask for updates. If you were actually innocent of this crime as we discussed we would have gone to trial, unfortunately, you didn't want to do that.

Awesome

We hired Chad in November 2012. We live out of state and my son got in some trouble in Georgia. We had 2 different attorneys go see my son in jail and Chad was the second one that visited him. My husband and I only talked to Chad on the phone and we felt like Chad was the one. My son liked him als...o and Chad made my son feel very comfortable and at ease and felt that he could help him so we hired him. Chad was able to get my son out of jail in just a few days. It was not easy doing this from another state but we relied on Chad and he made it happen. My son was being charged with felony drug charges. We had to wait for court dates and make trips to Georgia. We did a lot of talking on the phone since we did live out of state Chad and Fallon were always there to answer questions and if one of them were busy one of them always called us back. The first court date Chad was not able to make it to court so he sent Fallon another attorney that works for his firm. We did not know until the morning of court that Chad would not be there, we were not too happy but when we got to the courthouse and met Fallon we felt at ease , she was so sweet and very professional and tried to assure us that things would be o.k. That first court date nothing got resolved so we had to come back in a month. When we showed up for the second court date Fallon was there and the judge gave my son probation and first time offenders and he was able to transfer his probation to our hometown. The state we live in would of been misdemeanors for my son's charges. My son is a great young man and unfortunately made a wrong choice. He is working 2 jobs and is a full time college student. Chad and Fallon pushed for probation because they felt my son could get through the probation process. My son has a very busy and expensive few years ahead of him but we know he can get through it. He can one day put this behind him and go on with his life. And we can thank Chad and Fallon that he did not get jail time We are all very thankful for Chad and Fallon and the great job they did to help my son out. We would definitely would recommend Chad and Fallon . My husband and I are so grateful we have our son at home. Thanks Chad and Fallon your the best!!!!!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
