Hello ! I began my professional life as a Certified Public Accountant and worked with national and local CPA firms in Louisville, Kentucky and Atlanta, Georgia. While I was working as a tax specialist, I attended law school at Georgia State University and was admitted to the Georiga Bar in 1987. In 1989 I formed my own firm for the practice of law with special emphasis on privately held businesses, taxation, and estate planning. I consider myself a "personal lawyer", I have clients not cases. I understand that no one calls a lawyer because something good has happened. I encourage my clients to call me.. if I can't find you an answer, I will find someone who can. In addtion to conventional legal and tax issues, I have additional experience in some specialized areas such as Exempt Organizations and Charities (501(c)(3)), and the special legal issues involved when people have families that historically lacked legal recognition (same sex couples).
In my personal life, I love reading, history, cooking, the outdoors, Irish and folk music, and am the proud parent of two young men currently serving their country in the U.S. Army.
