Good lawyer

i hired him for my case last summer. It was 8 months of long work, but he has helped me get through all the paperwork, advised me for the next step, including multiple court appearances. I could see he has multiple clients and he was very busy. But in reasonable amount of time I did get response ...back for my questions. I think, divorce case is not win or lose. It is all about compromise and making it official and respecting the rule, other party and agreement which both parties have signed on. So I don't think I won the case; I don't have to, but I do think I picked right lawyer for my problem. He has generated goo settlement agreement we both could work on.

Personable, caring, honest, and the BEST!

Eric was my attorney in my divorce in 2010. Not only was he respectful to my ex-husband and his attorney, but he guided me to think clearly in order to make my future "easier" as my ex and I had a young child together. He explained the importance of staying level headed and keeping my eye on the pr...ize, which was a fair life for our son. Eric also represented me a few years later in a family case involving my ex-husband. I thought he was a saint in the first case, but this case he truly fought for my son. No matter how mad I was or jaded I came across, he was able to bring me back down to earth in a very calm and comforting manner. Don't get me wrong, Eric Shapiro is tough as nails - but when it came down to the one person he really represented, it was my son. He educated and enlightened me in both of my cases. It sucks that it didn't work out with my ex-husband and we are friends today; but I am so blessed Eric represented me. Funny thing, whenever we were in court every single attorney in the courthouse knew who he was and gave him immense respect. Even my ex-husband's attorney. He is respected among his peers and has great class. If you are looking for an attorney who is wise, fair, smart, and will not take advantage of you - Mr. Shapiro is your guy. He truly cares about family and the future of children in divorce cases.

won my case for me

Eric was professional, detailed and very concise in how he presented my case and his defense for me . I was presented with all my options and possible outcomes , and it won my case.

Honest, compassionate, professional & it got me what I wanted!

Eric got me full custody of my kids, spousal support that gave me a chance to get on my feet, and held my ex's attorney accountable for keeping the division of our stuff fair. He was honest and professional. He worked with me to make the payments doable because he understands that attorney's fees are... a "necessarily evil." He helped me keep my focus on my kids and was compassionate when I needed compassion and firm when I needed someone to keep me focused on the important stuff. I had his cell phone and he returned calls at all times of day and night, weekends, etc.... I have sent a couple friends to him since and they both had similar experiences. Eric is a wonderful attorney.

Excellent Support

I hired Eric after I released my initial attorney. My divorce proceedings had dragged on for almost two years, and I had lost all hope that I would ever see a resolution. Eric was able to finally bring my case to fruition and helped to mitigate some of the damage already done in the case. I would hi...ghly recommend Eric if you want a no nonsense approach and someone who wil lwork hard on your behalf.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2011.

Review Panel Reprimand issued in GA, 2011

updated on 03/01/2011

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case, the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
