Unmatched

An attorney who prioritizes his clients’ best interests over profit! From the very first conversation, my Lawyer, Eric, understood my situation without me needing to explain every detail. His knowledge and sharp instincts were evident throughout. He truly delivers on everything he promises, and his p...rofessionalism, responsiveness, and work quality are unmatched. I can’t recommend him enough! A good and KIND lawyer for the people! Thank you!

Excellent Attorney

I hired Eric after I had been through 3 contempt hearings with my ex husband for not paying child support. He was able to come up with solutions going forward that my other attorney had not. I appreciate that he keeps communication to what is absolutely necessary so I didn't pay for a lot of unne...eded consultation. He has always been more than prepared for the hearings and I trust him completely. He assisted me with a child support modification and two more contempt hearings. I highly recommend him.

Eric Shapiro: Patience and Experience Galore

I hired Eric to represent me in my divorce. His experience was very helpful to me as he was very patient and walked me through the maze of a legal process. In these kind of stressful situations, it was good to have someone that can say - as much as you want to get this over with quickly, it will take... 8-10 months. He was spot on! I'd highly recommend him!

Unorganized and unprofessional

I hired Eric Shapiro in January 2016 to represent me in a family law matter. On the front end, he was very sympathetic and good talker. In reality what I experienced is that he was slow to follow-up with me personally, opposing counsel, or the court, for that matter. He filed an important motion ...outside the term of the court despite my numerous pleas for him to do so. He was previously cited by the Georgia Bar and what I experienced is exactly what he was disciplined for - he is not attentive to detail and he has no staff. He received previous reprimands and letters of admonition. When I terminated him, he sent me a bill and raised his hourly rates. He could not produce a properly maintained file which resulted in additional legal fees to pay for work that I had already paid for. I highly suspect the positive reviews written on this site.

Unprofessional and unresponsive

I wish there were an option below Poor rating. On first contact, Mr Shapiro was engaging and responsive. Trying to handle a case in GA where I no longer reside was challenging at best; therefore, I needed to trust a local legal team to take charge and keep me informed. After the initial retainer ...was paid, there was some work completed and even an appearance in court that should have resulted in a much different outcome. Like an idiot, I him more to coordinate with the right officials to execute the judge's ruling. To date (going on 3 years now), I have received no response (i.e., numerous emails, letters, phone calls, etc.) on what actions or outcomes he took after the second payment. I even traveled to his office from out of state for a face to face. ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE -- unprofessional and did not meet my expectations. Funny twist -- My last conversation with him occurred when I called from the GA hotel. He answered his phone and when Mr Shapiro realized who it was -- he said he'd get back to me. That has now been over 3 years ago. Long story short. Mr Shapiro did not accomplish what was expected, he did not coordinate with the right county and state officials to resolve in his words what 'should be a pretty straight forward' case. I'm still waiting on escrow funds to be distributed back to me or the child support agency. They have no record of receiving any monies.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2011.

Review Panel Reprimand issued in GA, 2011

updated on 03/01/2011

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case, the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
