Excellent Attorney

I hired Eric after I had been through 3 contempt hearings with my ex husband for not paying child support. He was able to come up with solutions going forward that my other attorney had not. I appreciate that he keeps communication to what is absolutely necessary so I didn't pay for a lot of unne...eded consultation. He has always been more than prepared for the hearings and I trust him completely. He assisted me with a child support modification and two more contempt hearings. I highly recommend him.

Eric Shapiro: Patience and Experience Galore

I hired Eric to represent me in my divorce. His experience was very helpful to me as he was very patient and walked me through the maze of a legal process. In these kind of stressful situations, it was good to have someone that can say - as much as you want to get this over with quickly, it will take... 8-10 months. He was spot on! I'd highly recommend him!

Unorganized and unprepared

I hired Eric Shapiro in March 2016 to represent me in a child support modification action. A pretty straightforward case - that when I eventually hired the right attorney - saved me $6,000 annually. Eric Shapiro was not that attorney. Eric Shapiro is unorganized and unprepared. He would promise to... follow-up with paperwork, information, etc. I don't recall one instance where actually followed up with me unless I prompted him. Instead I spent my time managing him. I would ask about court filings. He would say, "I think so. Let me check." I quickly learned that this was his standard response/delay tactic. One time, he sent me something I requested and he forwarded me another client's divorce decree. I didn't see the review before I hired him. I wish I had. Read them. Divorce is a difficult situation and having the right attorney is important. I would not recommend Eric Shapiro.

Divorce- Out of State

I was desperately in need of a divorce attorney as my ex lives in Atlanta and I love in Cali. Out of all of the attorneys I called Eric was by far the best. He answered all of my questions without the need to jump through the consultation hoops and reassured me that he would take care of me. He did a...n amazing job keeping me up to date with my case and made sure everything was settled and fair.

Unorganized and unprofessional

I hired Eric Shapiro in January 2016 to represent me in a family law matter. On the front end, he was very sympathetic and good talker. In reality what I experienced is that he was slow to follow-up with me personally, opposing counsel, or the court, for that matter. He filed an important motion ...outside the term of the court despite my numerous pleas for him to do so. He was previously cited by the Georgia Bar and what I experienced is exactly what he was disciplined for - he is not attentive to detail and he has no staff. He received previous reprimands and letters of admonition. When I terminated him, he sent me a bill and raised his hourly rates. He could not produce a properly maintained file which resulted in additional legal fees to pay for work that I had already paid for. I highly suspect the positive reviews written on this site.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2011.

Review Panel Reprimand issued in GA, 2011

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case, the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
