My practice focuses primarily on Employment and Labor Law, with a focus on FLSA Minimum Wage and Overtime Litigation and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) litigation. I also have extensive experience in disputes involving employee benefits (e.g., pensions, group life insurance), forced labor and human trafficking, and various forms of illegal retaliation.
Much of my career has been dedicated to combatting misclassification and tip theft on behalf of nightclub and food service workers. In recent years, my focus has grown to include protection of employees from predatory employment contracts seeking to enforce illegal "tuition repayment" provisions (a/k/a "TRAPs," training repayment agreement provisions). I regularly work in federal courts throughout Georgia and nationwide, both at the trial and appellate levels.

The best attorney I know
He helped me settle a dispute over my former employers demanding unjust money from me. Whenever I called him he would immediately answer and resolved whatever questions I have. Communication was perfect and I could not have asked for a better lawyer.

This guy is fantastic.
I don't know much about the ins and outs of the law, but Matt was fantastic at explaining things that even a simple man like myself could understand. They worked hard on my case for a long time. Were always professional and put my best interest first. They will always be my first recommendation.

Great communication
Matthew Herrington has been a blessing in my life. From start to finish he kept me in the know every step of the way and was extremely easy to communicate with. He always returned emails and calls in a timely manner. Mr. Herrington exceeded my expectations with my settlement. I would recommend him to...
"Matthew is a strong advocate for his clients. I had the pleasure of working against him on a case. He was sharp and relentless. However, we have remained friends, which is always the sign of a great attorney."
"I know Matthew from law school, and we have maintained personal and professional contact since then. It is rare that you find someone who is so interested, hardworking, and exceptional in a practice area. Matthew is an excellent attorney, and I know that he serves his clients well."
