Biography
Matt earned his Bachelor of Arts at Emory University before earning his JD from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he focused on Estate Planning. He was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2013.
During law school, Matt worked as the Barrow County Intern for the Piedmont Circuit Public Defender’s Office, a Research Assistant at the University of Georgia School of Law, and Intern for the Human Rights League in Bratislava, Slovakia, where he helped clients obtain asylum and other forms of international protection.
Prior to joining Schoenthaler, Matt was an associate attorney at a firm in Atlanta where he advised diverse clients on Wills, trusts, powers of attorney, asset transfer and protection, and other estate planning techniques. Matt also focused on assisting clients trough all steps of the probate process, including litigating estate and trust matters both on behalf of personal representatives and beneficiaries when necessary.
Matt is an active member of the Atlanta Bar Association and its Estate Planning and Probate, Litigation, and Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers sections. Matt played rugby while in school and is proficient in German. His personal interests include local and international politics, Atlanta sports, traveling, and film.
