I became an attorney for one reason — to use the gifts God gave me for good. To bring truth to power. To fight for the vulnerable. And to persuade the powerful to treat the least among us with dignity and respect.
I grew up in Henry County. My family is here. My church is here. You can find me walking around the McDonough Town Square most days or having lunch at Grits. I am not a billboard lawyer downtown. I am your neighbor.
When you call The Van Matre Law Firm, you get me or my paralegal — every time. No call centers. No rotating associates. No being handed off to someone who doesn’t know your name. Clients here become family, and that’s not a marketing line. That’s just how we operate.
For 10 years I have fought insurance companies, prosecutors, and powerful interests on behalf of working people in Henry County and the Southside of Atlanta. I have been recognized as one of America’s Top 100 Personal Injury Attorneys and a multiple-time Super Lawyers Rising Star — but what matters most to me is that when you leave this office, you felt heard, respected, and taken care of.
Even if I can’t help you, I will make sure you get where you need to go.
You don’t have to go downtown. Your lawyer is already home.
Sincerely,
Jordan

I was in the best hands possible!
I had never been in any sort of trouble before, so when I received a citation for a very serious traffic violation which put my license in jeopardy. I went into Mr. Van Matre's office and met with him. He actually opened a law book and started researching the charges I had been given. From that momen...

Honest and professional!
"In meeting with Mr. Jordan Van Matre today, we found the consult to be very informative based on his expertise. We were very appreciative that a lawyer was willing to give us the facts and not just tell us what is easy to hear. We think him for his honesty and professionalism."

"I endorse this lawyer. I worked around Jordan and sometimes opposite Jordan when he was with a consumer bankruptcy firm. I found him punctual and attentive and prepared and detail oriented and with a good attitude. I observed his professional relations with clients and attorneys. I knew of his goals and plans. He had a successful time with a District Attorney's office. I am confident the attributes I observed will carry into whatever he does."
"Mr. Van Matre fights hard for his clients, both in and out of the courtroom. I recommend his services without reservation."
"I have known Jordan from his many years as an Assistant District Attorney. Jordan is an extremely capable, ethical, and effective attorney. He is well respected both inside, and outside, the courtroom. I know Jordan will do an excellent job taking care of his clients in private practice."
