An honest and superior lawyer

My legal situation began in Jan2020 and I was detailed military counsel and obtained a civilian trial attorney. As time progressed, my civilian attorney began to show less motivation to assist my detailed counsel and little to no concern for my upcoming General Courts Martial. I decided to terminate ...representation of my initial civilian attorney and reach out to Capovilla and Williams for assistance. After a brief conversation with their firm, I was convinced that they were the attorneys that would best represent me in my proceedings. During my initial contact with Mr. Williams, his responses and recommendations were passionate and he swiftly acted upon them. My experience interviewing other attorneys was contrary to this and most immediately discussed the financials of representation; Capovilla and Williams provided a path forward and discussed financials after knowing my situation. Throughout my journey to trial, Mr. Williams demonstrated honest feedback regarding all potential outcomes, remained transparent and honest. He worked extremely well with my detailed attorney throughout. His work ethic, dedication and sincerity, not only to my case, but to my family was more than I could have asked for. Mr. Williams worked late into the evening and on weekends to adequately prepare for trial ensuring to evaluate any and all possibilities we may encounter in Court. During the trial, his gut instincts were spot on and positively influenced the direction of the trial, ultimately surprising the prosecution. Mr. Williams balance between assertion and passivity were perfectly timed, resulting in positive influence of the prosecution and the courtroom as a whole. The severity of charges against me warranted an excellent Attorney, and I found that in Mr. Williams. I honestly believe that, had I stuck with my original attorney, I would not have gotten the favorable outcome that I received.

Saved Both My Career and Future

“Mickey and Rob saved both my career and future. I contacted Mr. Robert Capovilla shortly after I was notified that the Army intended to separate me. Mr. Capovilla informed me of the steps the Army would make and helped me get my defense packet together. Thankfully I had them on my case because my Ar...my appointed lawyer from TDS tried to get me investigated by CID. Rob was able to get that TDS attorney kicked off my case and got me a TDS attorney from another post. Rob handled all contact with the military prosecution and let me know everything that the Army was doing behind the scene. The Army set a board date that Rob was not able to make because of another trial, so after a conference between Rob, Mickey and I, we decided not to give the Army more time to prepare, and Mickey took up the case. Mickey came down the day before the board to go over all the evidence, character statements, and my testimony multiple times with me. I went into the separation board with a plan of action, confident and prepared. Mickey destroyed the military prosecutor, and the board found me not guilty. I had 12 years of decorated service in special operations. Rob and Mickey saved my career, retirement and VA benefits. I would not trust another law firm with my future on the line. If you find yourself in trouble with the military, contact Rob and Mickey before you say or do anything.”

Saved My Life

To say that Mickey Williams saved my life is more than an understatement. In fact, he not only saved my life multiple times, but also provided me with the framework and motivation to continue moving my life in a positive direction. I was accused of several allegations of sexual assault and abusive s...exual contact by two different women. The effects of these allegations were tremendous. Multiple mentors, friends and family members turned away from me. I was once a premier and top tier member of my organization, and after the allegations day-to-day life felt like exile. It was a mental, physical and emotional battle. Trying to clear my name, move ahead and find a future within or without my organization became seemingly impossible. I provided the truth. I provided transparency. However, nobody believed me. The phrase “innocent until proven guilty” felt like a myth or an idea so esoteric that only a small few could attain it. I was not one of the chosen few. My future was in jeopardy. It appeared that no one cared about my case as much as I did. I believed that no one would invest as much effort as I would. That changed when I hired Mickey Williams. Mickey did not hesitate to take command of the situation. His expertise, guidance and drive paved the way for my side of the story to be heard and understood. Mickey took a team effort and made it his own. Whenever someone would not assist he maintained a calm, unquestionable resolve to get things done: to get results. He spent countless hours interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and arguing my case to the Government before it went to trial. Miraculously, after nearly two years of thinking my life would end, Mickey Williams got my case not dismissed once, but twice. As I saw my freedom and life returning, the allegations were then reinstated as administrative punishment with the grounds of getting me removed from the organization. Mickey assured me that these were merely embers that he would have no problem putting out. Having already earned my trust and admiration, Mickey continued to work with the same resolve and drive as he did prior. Mickey never got complacent and never thought “good enough”. Mickey was hell bent on proving my innocence, getting my life back and ensuring that my organization retained me so that I could continue my career. In the final hour, when many would quit due to facing a case that seemed to have not chance at winning, Mickey operated full of energy and dispatch. Mickey proved he knew the case inside and out. He had prepared what seemed to be an encyclopedia of evidence to support my case and disprove the Government’s case. He spent several hours preparing me by placing me in response scenarios so I would be completely ready for whatever the Government planned to throw at me.When it came time to go to the hearing, Mickey ensured that I was ready but more importantly he restored my faith and my confidence. When the hearing started, it was clear that Mickey Williams was a cut above the rest. The difference of skill was akin to a master in contest against a new pupil. His litigation, communication and persuasion skills dismantled the Government’s case in the opening statements. The following moments were even more surreal. For every point that the Government’s prosecutor had, Mickey had at least 2-3 counterarguments, that were more sound, logical and feasible. The prosecutor looked foolish, inexperienced and lost throughout the entire board. My life was saved at the Court-Martial and my career at the separation board because I had someone else who was not afraid to fight. If you are thinking about hiring a military lawyer, hire Mickey Williams. He wins.
