Terrible Attorney - AVOID!!
Allison talks a good game, but can't back it up. She does not thoroughly prepare. When she knows she is losing, she will resign and leave you hanging. I know multiple people now that she has done this too !
It's hard to know who posted this, as it was done anonymously, but I can guess.......that it was someone that recently hired me to represent their child/grandchild in a manifestation determination review hearing (I'm guessing it's the grandmother who wrote this review). Once I received and reviewed their records, it became clear to me that the behavior in question was NOT a manifestation of the child's disability (and in fact, their private therapist came to the same conclusion, so would not assist with the hearing). I shared that opinion with them, stating that I would be happy to continue to represent them at the upcoming hearing, but that I did not expect my presence to change the outcome of the hearing. THEY then decided to not have me attend the hearing with them. To be clear, I did not resign "when I knew I was losing." There are laws that govern manifestation determination hearings, and in my expert opinion, this was a hearing that would not be successful for the parent. Upon hearing that opinion, the parent decided not to continue with my services. I am not one of those attorneys that will take any case, even losing cases, just to earn a paycheck. I am honest to a fault, and will let clients know when it would be a waste of their money to pay me to advocate for a position that isn't winnable. That is what I did here, and gave the client the option. They chose to not have me attend. If you are looking for an attorney who will take your money, no matter the strength of your case, then please pass me by. If you are looking for an attorney to give you an honest assessment of your case, then feel free to give me a call.

This lady is a fraud.
This lady charged me over 1,900$ and went to one IEP meeting. On top of that the IEP was a zoom she’s owes me really all my money back but she says I have 735$ left and I haven’t received it yet by mail. It’s been going on a week.if I don’t get my money back I’m calling the state bar.smh
I'm sorry that you failed to understand the concept of an hourly rate, which is a very common and acceptable way for private attorneys to bill for their services. It was discussed with you on the phone, as well as reflected in the retainer agreement that you signed. And in fact, the amount of time I put into your case far exceeded the fees that I charged and rightfully earned. I only regret that you did not allow me to complete what I started, which I offered to do once I became aware that you misunderstood the fee agreement, offered at a fraction of the rate you had agreed upon. As far as returning your balance on retainer, unfortunately, I have no control over the US mail. It has been less than 5 days since it was likely picked up from the mailbox -- I'm sure it will arrive before long. Best of luck to you and your child!

Great Experience
Allison was very knowledgeable about the IEP process and more than thoroughly analyzed my information and was available to answer all my questions. She was communicative and pleasant to work alongside. It was my first time consulting a lawyer and she made me feel as if my voice mattered.

Not what she appears
Roared like a lion during our first meeting and portrayed a "burn it down attitude." When we got to the IEP meeting, she was like a church mouse. My wife and I were shocked at the personality change. Also, she told us that she charges her full $250/hour for travel time but doesn't charge for email...
I knew that this client would be unhappy when I let them go as a client after only one IEP meeting together and fully expected to see a review like this from them one day. I have only had to "let go" a client three times in all of my years of practice, but it became clear with this client that we had a significant communication issue and differences of opinion and could no longer work together. It is obvious when you read my other reviews here and on my website that the criticisms as stated by this client are unwarranted. To criticize any professional for charging for their time spent on your case (which, in this case, was minimal after the meeting and primarily responsive to communications from this client) is unreasonable. I wish them all the best of luck in advocating for their child.
