The Goat!!!!

What can I say? I went to Rebecca for help with my divorce with not a lot to piss in. He had me kicked out of our home and took all of our money. Rebecca and Rosalyn were more than willing to take my case and help me out. She went to bat for me and I will tell you it was not easy I don’t listen well ...and she made it known. I can say I got everything I wanted she got me more of my home and she even got me the car. She is a beast in the courtroom. You have to listen and trust her. My case went for almost 3 years and she didn’t give up on me. She is very passionate about her work and her clients. I’m very grateful to have had her as my lawyer. I didn’t have a job or a stable home. I was living in a transitional home and still was able to keep my kids and awarded Primary Custody. Let’s talk about her paralegal Rosalyn she is very sweet and she will let you know straight up. I had a bad mouth before working with them and I was quick temper, but she always talked to me and eventually I had a change of heart. When I say they care they do. She was always sympathetic and thoughtful. Thank you for that. If you are looking for a lawyer who cares about her clients and passionate about what she does. Who wants to see what’s right done this is your lawyer!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND HELPING MY FAMILY. The girls and I are happier then ever.

No non-sense lawyer with a caring nature about the people she represents.

Rebecca Mclaws was an excellent lawyer, my divorce case had stalled and after it turned ugly with accusations and other things, she handled it all. She listened to my plea for help. I felt like a human being with her and she cared about my situation and told me straight up what she could do for me fr...om the start. In the court room she surprised me even more with her professionalism and presence in the room. She took control from the moment she stood up to represent me. She got my case settled and closed extremely fast with little or not contest from the other side. she also got me more than I could have expected from the results of the case. I would highly recommend her services to any one else and I will definitely use her office in the future if I ever needed it again for any reason.

I can’t put into words… but let me try.

I was in desperate need of an attorney who would take my case. Due to my lying family and my ex I was fighting hard for custody of my kids and to divorce my ex. Due to covid and the shut downs and the court it did take a long time but Rebecca worked really hard and is a “bull dog” attorney. She helpe...d me get my girls home safe and sound and away from my toxic family and my abusive and negligent ex. On the flip side of this coin, after having a conversation with her after court she said I would not have to pay attorneys fees as I was awarded them by the court and that my ex would have to pay her. I was so excited and grateful as I had taken out two loans and lost a car fighting for my kids and paying her. I also reapeatedly requested the itemized bill which I would constantly be told I would receive and wouldn’t ever get. I paid her a lot and after looking at the bills was not only double charged for things but hours had been adjusted to charge me almost double for something I had already paid for. She was also very unprofessional when she spoke to me on several occasions for trying to check in on my case after not hearing anything for weeks on end. And to top it all off, she is now suing me for the money that is left owed for the remaining balance even though she verbally told me I was not gonna have to pay and the order specifically named that the money is owed by him. She is great in court but unethical.

Avvo allows individuals to make posts anonymously and without any independent verification of the information provided. In this case, the poster is Ashley Williams. Ms. Williams case was pending in the Superior Court of Cobb County, Georgia. Ms. Williams' divorce is a matter of public record. If you wish to review information about the work we performed, it is online and available. Ms. Williams' statements are not true and inaccurate. Ms. Williams lost custody of her children prior to my representation of her through a temporary order based on her ex-husband's allegations of mental illness on her part. We overcame those allegations and the Guardian ad Litems' recommendation of custody to her ex-husband. Ms. Williams was extremely happy with our services and left a 5 star review. Ms. Williams changed her review after she was asked to pay for the services that were rendered. We believe in transparency and always invite our clients to discuss any concerns they have about the services provided and the itemized bill. Ms. Williams was provided an itemized bill. Ms. Williams was invited to address any concerns about it in writing to us. Ms. Williams' post is the first time we learned that she had concerns, as she never responded to our email or provided anything in writing to us. We understand that times are tough for everyone. Ms. Williams' final hearing was several days. We did not bill her for all the work that we actually performed. The trial court also required us to prepare the final documents, which caused her to incur more expenses. As a result, we offered to allow Ms. Williams to make monthly payments on the outstanding balance. We asked her to give us the amount she felt she could pay rather than insisting on a large amount that she could not potentially meet. Ms. Williams agreed to pay us a monthly amount. When the first payment came due, Ms. Williams then refused to pay. We notified her that we would have no choice but to begin collection efforts and that it was not something we wanted to do. Ms. Williams was informed that we preferred to try to work it out with her. Ms. Williams' response was to "sue her." We do not usually sue clients, as most of the time we are able to resolve any issues. Unfortunately, Ms. Williams refused any of our efforts to resolve the outstanding debt leaving us no choice. In response, she changed her positive review from 5 star to 1 star. We remain willing to resolve the situation with Ms. Williams and wish her the very best.

What A Find

My original divorce attorney retired and Rebecca was who he referred me to. My divorce was final, but my ex was not paying me on time or the correct amount of alimony. Rebecca is as tough as nails and when we went to court, she did not hold back. Not only did she get the job done, it was at an aff...ordable rate. And since we won the contempt case, I was awarded her fees form my ex. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Rebecca! ! !

Completely Ignored

I hired Ms McLaws for my divorce. I never once received a bill or statement of charges against my retainer. It has been 3 months since my divorce was final and I still do not have my divorce decree or any type of bill showing monies owed back to me from my retainer as I know she did not work all th...ose hours. I have called the office four to five times with no call back, I have called her personally asking why I can't be treated with respect -all I want is a copy of my bill, and then I called and said I have no choice but to call the State Board to file a complaint-I guess she doesn't care because still no word. I would not recommend hiring Rebecca.

When Danielle Moore retained McLaws Law Group, LLC, she was extremely frustrated with her divorce case. Ms. Moore had two prior attorneys before retaining our firm. Ms. Moore's divorce was frustrated, in part, because her case was not moving forward. Once retained, we immediately filed a Motion asking the Court to move the case forward. We located Ms. Moore's husband and got mediation scheduled. We represented Ms. Moore at mediation. Ms. Moore expressed how pleased she was with our representation in getting the case to that point. After mediation, Ms. Moore no longer believed the mediated parenting time was in her child's best interest. We set the matter for a final hearing. At trial, we successfully convinced the Court to change the mediated parenting time to exactly what Ms. Moore wanted. After trial, Ms. Moore was informed that our office needed to prepare the Quitclaim Deed for the former marital residence. Ms. Moore indicated that she would provide that information, but never did. The last communication from the number on file for Ms. Moore was May 2, 2017. For some unknown reason, Ms. Moore started calling and leaving messages in the general mailbox of attorneys that are also located in the same building. The McLaws Law Group, LLC never used the telephone number Ms. Moore was calling. Once we learned that she was calling the wrong number, we immediately reached out to her. Ms. Moore never sent an email to Ms. McLaws after May 2, 2017. Our office reminded Ms. Moore that she needed to provide us with documentation to finalize her case. It is unfortuante that Ms. Moore chose to write a review that is inaccurate and misleading particularly after our office was able to do what no other attorney had done for her before.

"I have known Rebecca for nearly 15 years now. I first met her when she was a paralegal at a established law firm in Marietta. I quickly learned that her knowledge of family law actually exceeded that of many of the actual attorneys in the firm. I suspect she knew this to be true as well, which is why she heard her calling to go to law school and earn her law degree. Althought she only recently earned her law degree, Rebecca has been an outstanding attorney for over 15 years. Her knowledge of the law and integrity is extraordinary and I am proud to have her as a fellow member of this profession."
