AWESOME ATTORNEY

Sean represented my Contempt case. In the end I was awarded the credit card debt reimbursement from my 2011 divorce. He was very prepared and confident and gave me the confident and less stress about the case, the courtroom and being put on the stand. He show up every time the opposing attorney didn'...t show up for court and the case being rescheduled over and over.

Too good to be true, tells you what you want to hear to get the case

I reached out to Sean for a custody matter. When I met Sean to discuss the case, expectations and payment (first and only time I saw him) he assured me I had a good case and had nothing to worry about. It started out well but rapidly changed. Lack of replies, availability, out of the office without n...otification for a week at the time, Cancellation of a hearing without my knowledge nor consent, ie Negligence from his practice, 3 face to face meetings for preparation of mediation cancelled including one while on my way (gave a month notice to schedule them), I got really upset and instead of apologizing he yelled at me and threaten to drop my case. I should have left right there but was afraid. To calm things down, he assured me he would attend the mediation with me. He cancelled the afternoon before due to a hearing (which was most likely scheduled weeks in advance). He sent someone I didn’t know in his place. Due to complete lack of preparation, proper representation & fear, I lost visitation days, gave up the previous visitation schedule, lost my CS, and now trying to keep my job due to what was agreed at that time. I even called the office during mediation stating I wasn’t comfortable with what was happening. When I realized what happened, it was too late. I signed the agreement but was never advised this would be binding.. Needless to say my experience has been far from positive and I am in worse situation now that I was prior to hiring Sean. I feel taken advantage of as a foreign single working mother. I ended up having to hire someone to try to fix the mess. I also asked due to the outcome of the case a PARTIAL refund. His reply: he would take legal actions against me if I was going to ask again. He is standing by his “good work” even though he got his behind kicked by a 2019 graduate from the OC and this costs me close to $100K... Sean took another vacation right after and doesn’t seem bothered by the outcome. I trusted him ... my mistake. If you have a sensitive matter that involved kids or divorce then do invest that few extra thousands for an attorney who will represents you and care about your case.. I don’t believe in threats and that’s all I got from Sean. BIG ego and not accountable. I didn’t expect an apology but a partial refund based on the obvious lack of representation that lead to that result. My mother overseas got really sick over all of this as she could not believe that someone could act in such way. I can’t express enough the financial and emotional stress he put us in, every interaction with his office was stressful. If this can help one person, then this review is worth it...go to someone who cares.. I was one of the few who had a terrible experience.. it s a gamble with Sean.

I am sorry you feel this way but obviously I disagree strongly with your false assertions in this matter. I am obligated to obey the rules of superior court, and trials that are called for a hearing take precedence over mediations. I am disturbed by your misrepresentations as there was a great deal of work done on your matter. I will stand by my offices work in this matter, which was extensive. Regardless, I take great pride in my offices practices, preparation and fair billing methods. Never have we not performed to the height of ethical standards and diligence and honored our flat fee commitment whether the matter takes a month or years.

Legal Hack! What a waste of money.

Sean puts on a good show before he has your money. He tells you everything you want to hear. I remember at the consultation thinking "this guy is good." Wow! I couldn't not have been more wrong. Go play the lottery. You have a better chance of winning than by hiring this lazy crook. So the back st...ory here is that my ex was over $90k in arrears in child support and I had custody of my 10 yr old daughter. My ex wanted to amend the divorce decree which stated he owed $1600/mo. He also finally wanted custody, which is the first time in her 10 years that he wanted to spend time with her. The reason he did this was so he could stop making child support payments, which he wasn't making in the 1st place. During the consult, Sean learned all of this and stated, "How is this guy not in jail?" That comment alone made us all feel Sean was the one to hire here. Over the course of the 2 years the suit endured, Sean did the following.... 1 Called me for a live meeting, as I was living in CO at this time. I flew to Atlanta only to find Sean had forgotten about the meeting. 2 Had no interest in looking at the papers I had accumulated, showing where my ex never paid for child support, doctor appointments, insurance, clothing, or any of his other obligations. 3 Twice he was an hour late for a meeting 4 On the day of mediation, he was too busy to make it. Instead he sent some pre-pubescent lacky of his who knew nothing about my case. When the lacky made attempts to contact Sean during mediation, Sean was too busy to answer his phone. I was basically there myself. At the end of mediation, I had lost my child...child support from my ex went from $1600/mo to $385/mo....and I lost the $5k I had paid Sean because he completely lost interest in this case, not to mention all of the other money I had lost flying back and forth to Atlanta only to be dismissed.

Chris I am sorry you feel this way and because of attorney privilege I am not at liberty to post the facts of this matter. However, it is very disingenuous of you to state that nothing was done in a two year matter and that something was done to you at a mediation in which there is no commitment other than the one you choose to make. Mediation is not binding is not arbitration nor a hearing, in fact mediation is a neutral negotiation in which the parties attempt to resolve their matter and everything discussed remains in the rooms after unless there is a settlement. There is no obligation to make the choice to agree unless the client chooses and this is clearly explained in the process. To come back after so much time and slander my office that remained on your matter for two years while remaining committed to the flat fee accepted and make these false statements is disturbing. I will stand by my offices practice and our commitment to clients.

"I was peripherally involved in a case with Sean, who represented a parent in a custody dispute. While everyone else was usually up in arms with drama, including myself, Sean remained collected and focused, and kept the case on track. The case recently resolved at mediation, and the outcome was the best possible scenario for all parties, and most importantly, the baby. Sean is patient and kind to all parties throughout litigation, but can and certainly will, become the staunch advocate that is needed to make sure the law is followed, and his client's legal rights protected. I recommend Sean to anyone who wants to ensure the best possible outcome for themselves and their children in a custody dispute. Custody dipsutes are painful enough as is....you need an attorney who will avoid the drama and stay focused on the lives that will be affected."

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
