Cannot recommend

Selected him based on several recommendations. After several reschedulings, the initial consult went fairly well. He promised to follow up and let me know if he could take my case. After waiting several weeks I called and sent emails. No answer. I received nothing but excuses from his office. I ...even asked for a recommendation if he couldn't or wouldn't take my case. Silence. No one ever bothered to follow up. No one returned my calls or emails. Very disappointed in him and the firm. I expected him to be better than this as he did come highly recommended. Thank goodness I wasn't charged for the initial consult otherwise I would have wasted my money.

Unfortunately, an "anonymous" post leaves much to the imagination. What is clear is that this person was never a client. That said, we regularly discuss options with clients, some of which requires that a) they provide the documents at issue, and b) a significant investment of time in reviewing those documents and research into the particular issue. What this anonymous poster seems to say is that they wanted our firm to dedicate the time and resources without ever hiring us to do so.

Do nothing attorney

I used the Siemon law firm and it was a huge mistake! I would give them Zero stars if I could. I gave Doug Hassinger $7,000 cash and he said that he would put it in an escrow account. And he was billing me $350 an hour. $3,500 was to deal with a TDO my wife put against me and another $3,500 to... deal with the divorce. My wife cancel the TPO and she changed her mind about the divorce. So I paid her attorney to file the petition to cancel the divorce. So Doug literally had no time in this and now he is refusing to give back my money. And his office aid Samantha Hall refuses to return my phone calls to discuss the matter. These guys are not to be trusted! Absolutely a horrible experience!

I'm not one to engage in this type of forum, but it would appear that you are leaving out vital details, and intentionally giving the wrong impression. To be accurate and clear: - You have been provided with detailed billing statements, and asked multiple times if there appears to be an error, and you refuse to communicate in a productive manner. - There were two TPO matters (one with an Ex Parte Order, and one without), One Administrative action, AND the divorce action. To summarize the situation more accurately: - Three (3) Court cases against you, - One (1) Administrative action against you - Five (5) days to prepare for hearings - Ninety-three (93) text messages with you - Sixty-Seven (67) emails with you and opposing counsels - Two (2) opposing attorneys against you - One (1) Court appearance on your behalf - Four (4) wins for you. - and all within Three (3) weeks. Finally, - I cannot imagine that opposing counsel would accept payment from you or otherwise communicate with you in any manner during our representation of you, as that would be a violation of ethical rules.

Knows Dads Rights

There is pretty much a bias everywhere that moms are just better to take care of the kids. I have 3, and my ex was non-stop keeping us apart, talking bad about me - stuff you hear about all the time. When I met with Doug, I was looking for contempt. It took 8 1/2 months and 3 hearings, but by Chri...stmas, Doug had gotten my kids living with me, a workable schedule, and my ex is paying me child support. Still waiting on the judge to see how much in attorneys fees she has to pay. It was a tough process, and yes, it was not cheap, but Doug was there every step of the way. Talk openly, listen to him, avoid the drama, and you couldn't ask for a better person on your team

Does not do what he promised

In the first meeting make sure He talks his plan of actions in writing. He charged a lot of money but didn't do what He promised.

Amazing litigator

I was very grateful to have Mr. Hassinger represent me in my divorce last year. My ex, who is an attorney, was pretty intimidating when it came to negotiating child support and alimony, even though it wasn't me who was unfaithful in the marriage. Mr. Hassinger is very competent and a confident nego...tiator. He didn't shy away from my ex's hostile tactics, and instead, got me a fair deal. Divorce is enough of a nightmare without having to worry about being represented well or dragging out. In this case, I didn't have to, since Mr. Hassinger made sure every detail was taken care of. He did an excellent job helping me get through this ordeal and on with my life. I definitely recommend him.

"Doug worked with my firm when he began his practice and I have had the opportunity to work on both sides of the table with him since he began his own practice. I have found Doug to be innovative, adept and knowledgeable. Doug has great skill at solving problems instead of perpetuating them. He provides his client with solutions in cases with hard issues and significant life-changing impact. His talents are a credit to the profession."

Family lawyer | Oct 19

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"Doug is a colleague in the family bar and has been a good friend for nearly a decade. In the family bar in particular, I find there are many lawyers who are overzealous to a fault, who seem to have a total inability to see the other side and understand his/her motivations, perspectives, and wants. While I'm sure it makes the client happy to know s/he has a "pit bull" on his/her side, in reality the client is not getting good service from that lawyer, and is likely to spend more money than s/he should have to spend. Doug is different, which is a rarity in the family bar. To date, I have been fortunate enough not to face Doug in a case, as I know he is a tenacious, capable litigator. But the reason Doug is great at what he does is his ability to be reasonable first, brutally honest with his clients, and adversarial only as a last resort. I would have every confidence in Doug as my lawyer that I am getting the best value for my litigation dollar. He has my highest recommendation."
