Michael Frederick Gillen

Attorney Michael F. Gillen is a partner in the law firm Gillen & Pickelsimer, LLC located in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Gillen & Pickelsimer, LLC zealously represents their clients throughout the state exclusively in the Family Courts. Gillen & Pickelsimer, LLC bring a combined 39 years of experience together for their clients' benefit.  Michael has achieved a AV® Preeminent™ rating from his peers through Martindale-Hubbell, indicating his work is widely respected by his peers and has been an active member of the York County Bar Association and South Carolina Bar Association since 1993. He served as President of the York County Bar Association in 2008.  He also currrntly serves on the Judicial Merit Selection Committee of the South Carolina Bar Association.  

Michael was raised with an appreciation for hard work and family.  He completed his undergraduate studies with honors at University of South Carolina and went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1991.  While completing his undergraduate studies, he was very active in student government, Mortar Board and Omicron Delta Kappa, both leadership and academic honors societies.  After completing his legal education, Micharl spent two years as a prosecutor with the Sixteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office before moving into private practice.  After two years as an associate attorney, he opened his own law firm in 1996. He is married to Margaret Peeler Gillen and together they have five childre.
