Michael Frederick Gillen

I met with Mr. Gillen about a custody matter and I was thoroughly impressed by how knowledgeable he was. He was very to the point, and did not sugar coat anything, which is a good thing. He is definitely someone who knows what they are talking about, extremely smart, but also truly cared what happene...d at the end of the day. I have met with other lawyers, and they didn’t have half the whit and knowhow that he does. I will and would recommend him to anyone in need of a lawyer for anything that he practices! You will have a strong fighting man on your side who will be straight up with you and not leave you guessing!

There are many lawyers who will take your case just for the money. Mr. Gillen is not one of those lawyers. I'm in the process of going through a divorce. He didn't approach my case like an assembly line. The effort he put forth to understand my circumstances is more than note worthy. It's comforting.... He doesn't absentmindedly gather the facts. Mr. Gillen shows he cares first and foremost for his clients best interest. Money is not his motivation. I trust and respect him greatly. He has proved to be a true blessing to me, my children and my circumstances. His results speak for themselves.

Hired Gillian in December of 2015 to finish a divorce that had already been filed. Working with Gillian and the many paralegals he went through during the three-year ordeal was nearly impossible. I had to constantly and quite literally beg him to follow up, set court dates, and follow orders. The fir...st year they did absolutely nothing. Finally got a temp hearing in Jan. 2017 and from there Gillian was unprepared for hearings, left judge orders out of the official order and added things like car payments...which wasn't applicable. Took 6 months to file orders, contempt, or basically anything. But all those hearing were a waste of time as the plaintiff wasn't held accountable to the order. Gillian seemed preoccupied with other cases and failed to get orders filed in a reasonable time frame. Meanwhile, my children and I were living in poverty and I couldn't afford to retain another attorney. He seemed to care when you were in front of him, but I was forgotten the minute I stepped out of sight. He wasn't held accountable for letting my case expire due to the 365-day rule either...(twice I may add). The York County Family Court never held him accountable for the extreme negligence in taking 3 years (and still unresolved). Needless to say, after three years the defendant has had the opportunity to hide income, rearrange property, etc.
