After completing his legal education, Micharl spent two years as a prosecutor with the Sixteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office before moving into private practice. After two years as an associate attorney, he opened his own law firm in 1996. He is married to Margaret Peeler Gillen and together they have five childre.
