Taking on Daunting Entity

The best way to add to these superb (and accurate) reviews is by saying that Ross was originally hesitant to take my case against the major medical presence in our county as they have a stranglehold on everything. He evaluated my wrongful surgery, outlined options and included me decision by decisio...n. I am thrilled with the results. Ross worked hard, professionally and smartly, answering my emails at all hours. He was meticulous about stating pros and cons and allowing me to be the final decision maker. And OMG, he has a sense of humor, can be really tough and is a pleasure to work with.

Responsive, pro-active Representation ...

In this instance, I found myself in a disagreement about a real estate Partition. I engaged Ross Appel of the McCullough Kahn Firm (359 King Street, Charleston). Immediately, Ross (the consumate professional) jjumped on the case and settled my nerves and, the other side's aggressive tendencies. ... Independently, Ross prepared a spreadsheet of three probable outcomes and identified my minimum and maximum exposures. Ross quickly resolved the case without litigation and without formal mediation mechanisms. Throughout the process, Ross focused on our goals, my budget and the real-world exigencies. I offer Ross Appel my highest recommendation!

Got the job done...

We could not have asked for a better attorney for the job. Professional, and on point. Ross was always on point and made himself available to us every step of the way. We highly recommend Ross, and we greatly appreciate the work he did for us.

Second to none

I hired Ross to help me with a zoning issue where my neighbor was attempting to build a large structure with an apartment on our shared property line. There was a long and confusing set circumstances and appeals were made to the Charleston BZA-Z and the SC circuit court. Ross came up to speed quickly... on the facts of the case and was already familiar with the zoning laws involved and procedures surrounding the BZA-Z. He is friendly, intelligent, and incredibly passionate about zoning law and its powerful effect on people’s lives, people’s property, and the City of Charleston. The advice he gives is always intelligent and to the point. I never hesitate to ask him to explain anything as I know his answer will be direct and informed. In comparison to other lawyers I have worked with, Ross is faster to respond to questions, easier get in touch with, and overall easier to work with. He is well spoken, great at presentations, and knows how to tailor his message to his audience. His presentations to the Charleston BZA-Z and circuit court were second to none and many of the neighbors who were present commented on that fact. He knew what the BZA-Z wanted to focus on vs. what the circuit court wanted to focus on. I will hire Ross for any zoning work I need done in the future, large or small. I would also recommend Ross to others in need. Money well spent.

Excellent Zoning Attorney

My neighbors and I got together and hired Mr. Appel to represent us in a zoning issue for our neighborhood. He was extremely easy to work with, returned calls and emails promptly, and always kept his fees within our budget. His ideas for our case were brilliant and his planning was perfect. We had... a very difficult case and were told by many that we would never win, but he won our case for us. I have been in the real estate business for 38 years and have worked with a number of fine attorneys, but I must say, Ross is the finest of all. If I ever have a zoning issue in the future, he will be my first call.
