DO NOT HIRE THIS ATTORNEY!

She started out by agreeing to handle my divorce and custody and accepted my money. A month goes by she had yet to contact my ex's attorney to give notice that she was representing me. So she does this and contacts ex's attorney. Ex's attorney responds to her letter ASAP (within 2 days) and she ne...ver shares this with me. Not only that but another 4 months pass without any communication with me. I then called her office to see if I owed any money (never received an invoice!) or what the deal was. Paralegal, Kami, says she will ask Marry and call me back. Another 4 days pass and I send Mary an email asking what the problem is and why she hasn't responded? No response. I call again and get the voice mail so I left a message that if she doesn't respond I will file a complaint with the SC Bar Association. Still nothing. I call the office again and Kami tells me she needs to check with Mary and will call me back. The next day I received an email from Kami stating, "I have spoken with Mary, and unfortunately due to her not finishing a week long trial the week of the bad winter weather, she is now rescheduled for this trial to continue in March. Therefore due to her schedule, she is not going to be able to take your case at this time. Attached is an invoice which includes the charges to date. Being that you have paid $XXXX to date, we owe you a refund of $XXXX. Please let me know to what address we should mail this refund check. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we look forward to hearing back from you regarding the address for the refund check."

Best Lawyer Ever

Mary Murray saved my life! Although this phrase is often used in hyperbole, it can also be used to describe the work of doctors, paramedics, and other specialists. It is hard to imagine a moment in your ordinary life where this phrase might apply to the work of an attorney, but perhaps you have...n’t found yourself in family court. To say that divorce is difficult is an understatement. Divorce is a hellish experience. Rarely is anyone prepared for the mental, emotional and even physical effort that is required in the months ahead. I found myself in Mary’s office terrified, trembling, and disoriented. One day after receiving a devastating judgment whereby I lost all custody and visitation rights to my son. The ruling was made pending the results of extensive drug and alcohol testing based on false and deliberate allegations made against me by my husband, a drug and alcohol researcher. Given his work as a drug & alcohol counselor, he was well aware of family court processes related to drug, alcohol, and substance abuse, including the mere allegations of abuse. Initially, there doesn’t seem to be much difference. Having originally retained a dishonest, insincere, and ultimately unethical attorney, I had very little time and even fewer options. Despite what seemed like insurmountable odds, Mary agreed to represent me. With less than 3 days to prepare she took my case. She listened to my saga and I know that she believed me. As an attorney, she is honest, realistic, and deliberate in her approach. Best of all, Mary is fearless. She will not be intimidated, she will not back down, and she is not afraid to fight. I never questioned her commitment. I always knew she had my back. For me, Mary changed the game. She climbed up the mountain with me, won us both some victories, and all the while, she never doubted we’d prevail. Ultimately she settled my divorce, and most importantly of all, returned my son to me. There is much more to this story, (as it often goes) but without exaggeration, I can say that Mary Murray saved my life.

"Mary and I have been involved in several cases throughout the years, and no matter how hotly contested, she has always been prepared and remained civil and articulate. She is a worthy adversary, and while we have had our share of difficult cases, I have always felt comfortable meeting to discuss issues in a case with her. Her consummate professionalism and skill have allowed us to resolve the case for both clients' best interests. She is a strong advocate for her clients, who is also well respected by her fellow lawyers."

"Mary Murray is a wonderful attorney and advocate. She is also a great mediator. When a person is represented by Ms. Murray, I know that if the case can be resolved without litigation, it will be, because she is exceptional at looking at the "big picture" and this affords her clients substantial savings and heartache. I also know that should the action be litigated, Ms. Murray will be a zealous advocate in the courtroom, prepared, and professional. She is one of the best in Charleston and the surrounding Lowcountry!"
