Ryan D. Stump represents clients in criminal defense matters. A North Carolina native, Mr. Stump received his B.A., graduating cum laude, from Campbell University and his J.D. from Campbell University's Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Stump clerked with the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina. During his clerkship with the United States Attorney's Office, Mr. Stump worked with the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force ("OCDEFT"), where he focused on aiding the investigation and prosecution of federal drug and organized crime matters.

Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Stump took a position with First National Bank. At First National Bank, Mr. Stump served as both corporate counsel and as the estate planning attorney for the bank's high net worth client. Mr. Stump joined Roberts Law Group in 2012, realizing that his true passion is in criminal defense litigation and ensuring that his clients are zealously advocated for throughout their entire experience in the criminal justice court system.  While at Roberts Law Group, Mr. Stump opened and served as the lead attorney for the firm’s Wilmington, NC and Charlotte, NC satellite offices.  In 2013, Mr. Stump left Roberts Law Group in order to open RandallStump, Criminal Defense Attorneys, with Samuel J. Randall.  The goal of Mr. Stump and Mr. Randall is provide unparalleled representation to their clients while treating their clients like the people they are, not just a file number. 

Mr. Stump has continued his legal education by attending both state and national DWI education seminars, the White Collar Criminal Defense College at Stetson University and the National Criminal Defense College’s Trial Practice Institute in Macon, Georgia.

Best Criminal defense attorney in Charlotte, N.C!
I called Randall and Stump in November 2014. I spoke with Mr. Stump. I was charged with embezzlement, which is a felony charge. He explained everything to me, with good and bad outcomes. Whenever I called or emailed him, he always returned my calls and emails. I really felt as that he was on my side, during the most difficult time in my life. He is very professional. In January 2015 my charges were dismissed. I couldn't ask for a better attorney. I think he is the one of the best criminal defense lawyer's in Charlotte, NC!

Speeding ticket
Just wanted to say that Ryan Stump is the person that you need to represent you. We wer satisfied wit our outcome and if I needed to use him again I would definitely get him. He keeps you up on every thing.

Speeding ticket
I contacted Ryan stump little over a week ago about my case. Agree to a flat fee and he handle thing from there very please with the outcome . Would use him in any matter that might arise in the future . Very please with his matter of handling thing. Thank Ryan

Great Representation
I called the office about 4:00 pm on a Friday for a Monday 9:00 am court date. Ryan was extremely helpful and gracious. He emailed me the necessary documents, went to court Monday morning, and had my charges reduced. Very professional. I could not have asked for better representation.

Excellent work! Highly Recommended.:)
I got a new car and was driving on I-77 from North Carolina to to South Carolina. Did not realized how fast was going and got caught doing 75 MPH on a 55 MPH. Police gave me a ticket and a court hearing. I was extremely upset and being so busy with work, and the inconvenience, I decided to call Attorney Mr. Ryan Stump for help. He explained to me everything clearly and how much it will cost. Well, I did not have to go to court. I ended up paying only for court fees, and Mr. Stump's services. They removed all charges so I have no moving violation and nothing will go to my insurance, so I am extremely pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend this firm if you ever encounter a problem like this. It makes life a whole lot easier if you are as busy as me, and on top of that the misfortune of getting a ticket by the police.

Ryan Stump
I worked with Ryan and he did a fantastic job. I had gotten a speeding ticket with a really high fine attached to it. I went to him the day before court day, and he took my case without no hasatation. He was very easy to work with and took care of pretty much everything. All I had to do was go to his office to make my flat fee payment, and sign a waiver of appearance and he appeared in court on my behalf. I saved both time and money and am now avoiding the insurance hassles.Overall, I had a very pleasant experience and would recommend this firm to anyone. « show less J.R.

My Defense
I came to this firm with a speeding/ traffic violation ticket. I was represented by Ryan Stump. He was awesome and did everything he said he would do. Criminal Defense.
I hired Ryan Stump in a Criminal matter to represent me. He ended up getting me a better plea bargain than I had anticipated. His presence in the courtroom and during negotiations was excellent. Very impressive. I would highly recommend Mr Stump.

Best NC Lawyer for Traffic Violations!
Ryan provided excellent legal services for a minor traffic violation. I was from out-of-state and could not be present for any legal proceedings. Traffic Ticket

Simple assault
Mr.Stump represented me in court january 2014. I was very pleased with my results for my simple assault charge. I was a client that lived out of state and threw out the entire process Mr.Stump communicated with me on my case. On the expectation of the defendant up until my court date. Proactive Representation
Facing possible indictment, I had to seek representation. I had the great fortune of being introduced to Ryan Stump. From the beginning, Ryan gave complete attention to my situation; never judged; never rushed. Ryan made himself available to me by office meetings and by phone, even on the weekends. I could tell that Ryan had familiarized himself with any paperwork (discovery) that had been presented against my person. Not once did I ever feel unsure about his advice, or his direction. Ryan proactively approached the prosecuting attorney, which I feel helped to keep me from indictment. Thank you, Ryan!

Excellent DWI Atty.
Through Ryan's diligence and attention to detail, my DWI was recently dismissed. Unfortunately, pressure from political organizations like MADD cause law enforcement officers and the court system to behave as if you are guilty until proven innocent... Without proper legal council, it would have been impossible to right the wrong that occurred. I highly recommend Ryan Stump and offer my deepest gratitude to him and the entire Roberts Law team. Our Experience
Our son got himself into a terrible situation in which he was arrested and was facing felony charges. This was all happening 4 states away from where we live. Attorney Stump held weekly, scheduled phone conferences with us to keep us up to date on the progress of our son's case. He was always attentive during our conference calls and was willing to spend as much time as needed on the phone with us. Attorney Stump also worked diligently to get the charges lessened as much as possible. The support staff at the Roberts Law Group were also very supportive and helpful. During a family crisis such as this, we could not have asked for a more professional, knowledgeable and compassionate person that we found in Ryan Stump. The outcome of our son's case was the best case scenario short of charges being dropped. I would highly recommend Mr. Stump to anyone who might find themselves in need of a caring and knowledgeable criminal defense attorney.

Great results...!
Ryan was extremely helpful in working through a situation that could have turned out to be a major problem. Having him act on my behalf definitely resulted in a better outcome than had I tried to work through the problem on my own. He communicated well and was available to get together on Saturdays, etc. to go through the issues. Highly recommended.
