Case dismissed!

I hired Mr. Jeremy Cotten to assist in my DWLR(revocation due to prior dui) defense. He kept in contact with me via email, and told me exactly what I needed to be done on my end for a positive outcome in court. He had my case continued so I could get things in place to get my license back. And he ca...me in clutch! Case was dismissed! We kept in contact by email, which was amazing for a guy like me who prefers texts and emails. When I'd first contacted Cotten Law Firm, an explained my predicament, they were engaged, they were kind and most importantly knowledgeable. And the rate was a flat fee that was shockingly affordable! It was worth every penny in my opinion. In closing, I would hire Jeremy Cotten again.... although hopefully i never have to, but we're all human, unfortunate things transpire and sometimes our better judgement eludes us... if i ever end up with another ticket Jeremy Cotten is who im going to call!

after paying my money to this firm, they took my money and ran

after paying my money to this firm, they took my money and ran, and it ws a simple lane pass, when i informed the Jeremy Cotton, that my insurance company went up, he refused to give my money back after they told me i would get a money back guarantee, the receptionist, after informing her that I had ...a death in the family and have to take on 2 jobs, slammed the pone in my ear, and the next thing i knew, my number and email was blocked, what a horrible way to treat someone with a death in the family and having to take on 2 jobs Ken

Disheartening experience - lack of respect, clarity, and effort

It was bittersweet experience working with Mr. Cotten and his team. Reason being - lack of communication from the team and the lawyer and most importantly, clarity on potential outcome for my case throughout the process. My case involves the first-time ticket and a high speed citation (no other charg...e), so if you believe you are in a similar shoes, I recommend you finding a different lawyer with higher fees who actually will work with you and give you clarity on potential outcomes they can achieve. I am grateful for the help from his team, but if I ever get a ticket again? probably not going with him, as my honest experience as a client felt like I was left in the dark, neglected and disrespected by the staff member for asking the most basic questions such as "what is the negotiation Mr. Cotten achieved with the DA?" When I asked the question, Ashely was clearly annoyed as if I am causing a great inconvenience and that I am not "entitled" to any results. I was floored. All I politely asked them was as a client, who already paid the fee, if they can communicate what results are potential outcomes and clarify what is the "minimum impact on license and insurance points" deal they achieved. Is it 9 over or 14 over? They refused to answer, when I sent them about 4 emails politely asking questions regarding my case for the span of 3 months, I never received a single reply. They never confirm the receipt the documentation proving that my car actually malfunctioned and seem like they didn't care to use because if you are charged with certain high speed then, no documents can prove that you actually didn't mean or were aware of going that fast. My speed citation was in 25-29 over at the speed limit. My story is that my car truly malfunctioned that I lost control of my car and panicked that I did not know how fast my car was going when I was pulled over. I was scared that this is my first time interacting with an officer, so I continued to apologize, which I did not know will result in a citation with comments that I "acknowledge" the speed I was going - I did not. I documented the car dashboard showing the error with photos and obtained comments and receipt from the repair center right that day demonstrating that my car truly had a system error. I sent all these documentations to them and they never put in an effort to acknowledge it or use it during the court to defend my stance. Despite these sad events, I was not expecting anything miraculous such as dismissal. I was hoping that they will stand up to their word "minimal impacts on insurance and license." However, the result they obtain was 14 or over, which is not the worst since the misdemeanor charge (if you go 15 or over in nc), but definitely not stellar considering I have a clean driving record and compelling documentations showing my car truly malfunctioned. My attorney fee at this office was about $180 along with the driving course $100 and court fee about $250, totaling around $530. And now with 3 points being added to my insurance, I need to face thousands of more dollars of consequences in insurance rate increase - even this they did not answer my questions... I am unsure if the reason why they never reply to my questions as a client is because I am in my 20s, so they never take me seriously or they are embarrassed with their capacity on outcome they achieved with resources provided. I researched about 10 different attorneys for my case before going with Mr. Cotten and the biggest reason was that in the reviews and comments, there were cases like mine (high speed like 26 or over) getting reduced to 9 or over or even less. Seems like he coudln't do that with mine, and unsure if this is due to county difference where I would imagine some courts might be stricter than others. I remember speaking with Tony Huynh, confidently telling me that he could get me 9 or over if I do driving course. Well with just $120 more in the attorney fee, I would have gone with him.
