As an associate in the Charlotte office of Elliot Morgan Parsonage, Michael provides compassionate, diligent, and creative legal services that are tailored to meet each client’s specific needs. His ability to relate to clients from diverse backgrounds makes him well suited for representing his clients across a broad range of legal areas. He practices in the areas of employment law and family law, but he also handles cases relating to a variety of criminal matters.
Michael comes by his legal abilities through his parents as well as his education. He grew up in a home where the practice of law dominated discussions around the dinner table. His father, Robert M. Elliot, is a founding partner of Elliot Morgan Parsonage. His mother, Suzanne Reynolds, has been a valued member of the faculty of Wake Forest Law School for over 30 years and now serves as interim dean.
Michael is a proud “double Tar Heel,” having graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor of arts in English and a J.D. degree. Following law school, he practiced as a public defender in Mecklenburg County for two and a half years and handled hundreds of cases in district and superior court—never one to shy away from fighting for his clients’ rights. He also serves as chapter editor of the Sixth edition of the North Carolina Prima Facie Torts Manual.
Michael lives in Charlotte with his wife, Rebecca Davenport, a cardiac nurse at Carolinas Medical Center. Michael and Rebecca love to travel, with extended trips to Europe, Southeast Asia, and South America.
