This is long overdue. Attorney M. Littlejohn managed our discrimination in housing suit with determination, professionalism, consistent and proactive communication while others in the area told us it couldn't be done. First, he uses a program to keep himself honest about dates, follow-ups and man...aging your case documents. That works! Second, he's a solo practitioner so there's no secretary, paralegal or other clerks to hand you off to. I got him with each call and email. Third, he was upfront for contingency work and his expectations while hearing what I wanted. When I didn't know what I could ask for he explained some options and I chose. He didn't dictate. He didn't fumble his words. He said it. He meant it. Fourth, this was and is a very personal case. It's my life and that of my family. He didn't trample our feelings nor downplay the severity of what had happened and what we needed which was to be heard and someone to act on our behalf. In listening, he was able to recite all the important stuff and give anecdotal stories when necessary because he listened to what we provided from doctor diagnosis, our trainings, care regiments and money spent for everything. I had receipts and when I didn't I could explain things via statements. Fifth, there were days this whole debacle wore me out. He was empathic and didn't harass me to respond. I'd ask how much time do I have and made sure to hit each deadline. There was a lot of stuff especially emails. Lastly, our verdict wasn't Beverly Hillbillies rich nor cartoon paid but it was satisfying to have a record that (1) we were not wrong, (2) paid for our suffering and maltreatment and (3) proved other attorneys did us a favor by saying silly things that didn't add up because it forced me to keep looking and I'm grateful to have found Attorney Littlejohn. Not too many handle civil matters and especially not housing issues. I'm happy to report this is someone that will work earnestly and attentively to get the best outcome. P.S. Yes, sometimes there's compromise even with a win. P.P.S. I am real. The case included two court appearances. Attorney Littlejohn is very passionate and caring about his work and toward his clients. He took extra time to thoroughly review the lengthy files of my potential case. This was at zero cost to me. He was also very understanding of my emotional state and was patient with me when I spoke. Although, he ultimately did not take my case to court, he did write me a professional letter explaining the reasons for his decision and an explanation of his professional legal opinion regarding whether or not he believes I have a case or potential case based on the stack of documents & files he reviewed. This is the first time I have ever had an attorney do this for me when choosing not to move forward with a case. Usually, when an attorney chooses not to take a case, they simply send an email explaining they will not be taking the case but offer nothing further. Attorney Littlejohn even went on to provide me with the names/information of multiple attorneys that I can reach out to, as well as how to get in touch with the Legal Bar Associations. Attorney Littlejohn received nothing in return for his assistance to me. He was simply moved by his compassion, caring and personal code of ethics. I would hire Attorney Littlejohn in a heart beat. Had he taken my case to court, I know it would of been a huge win! If he offers to take your case, jump on the opportunity because you will not find another like him. He is a diamond in the rough!
