Shemik A Thompson

   Mr. Thompson graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business before attending law school. During his time in law school, Mr. Thompson received Dean’s List Honors, as well as a Pro Bono Distinction for his work within the Charlotte Community. The extensive amount of pro bono and Mr. Thompson completed molded his passion for representing and defending the less fortunate and has placed him on mission to help improve the community by over-dedicating himself to his clients.

   Whether affecting an individual's personal life, family or business endeavors, Mr. Thompson is committed to working collaboratively with his clients and ensuring each client is well informed and receives sound legal advice regardless of the circumstances. Because Mr. Thompson understands the importance of communicating with his clients, as a solution, he offers a unique approach to representation through use of online platforms. Mr. Thompson makes the most of technology, allowing his firm to run efficiently while simultaneously being economically friendly, all while providing superior communication and work flow updates in real-time. Through Mr. Thompson’s client-focused approach, he is best suited to identify his clients' goals and navigate each client towards achieving the most favorable outcome possible, without sacrificing transparency.

   When he's not practicing law, Mr. Thompson enjoys playing basketball, drawing, and discussing a variety of interesting topics. He currently spends his weeknights coaching 7th grade boys basketball. Other than sports, he maintains relationships with local non-profits to serve in any capacity needed. Mr. Thompson has also partnered with Future L.E.A.D.E.R.S of America which is a non-profit organization involved in building and fostering relationships with youth who need direction in and out of the correctional system.

   In addition to his volunteer efforts, Mr. Thompson is also active in the Mecklenburg County Bar. He is a current board member of the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee Pipeline Programming Subcommittee. The Pipeline Programming Subcommittee is responsible for organizing the annual ‘Lunch with a Lawyer’ program and the annual Diversity Day Conference. Both programs seek to encourage children to consider the legal field as a possible career choice.
