Sheree and Kerry of Cameron Bankruptcy Law

We believe in excellency as both a virtue and a compulsion. We are workaholics, both passionate and personable. We believe success is measured by action, not wealth. We believe in doing the right thing for the right price. We are family, and will treat you like family, too. We are Cameron Law.

Sheree Cameron’s double undergraduate degree came from the University of Tennessee where she graduated “Summa Cum Laude”. Sheree received a scholarship for the UNC Chapel Hill School of Law, where she received her Doctorate in Law. She has helped people find relief from their debts as a Bankruptcy Lawyer for over 10 years, and carries an “A+” rating with the BBB® under “Cameron Law”.

Sheree grew up in rural Tennessee, and was the first (and only) in her family to graduate from college. Her mother washed clothes and bedding at an elder care facility, and her father was unemployed while she was growing up. Sheree is the “detail” part of family/team. She handles ALL the legal aspects of our clients’ situations personally. She is often up at 2:00 or 3:00 am working feverishly to help a client in crisis.

Kerry Cameron grew up as a “Missionary Kid” in rural Alaska, where both his parents were born. After serving in the Army at Fort Bragg, he got his undergrad at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. When not assisting Sheree, he also works as a professional magician.

He has worked as Sheree’s part-time paralegal (and husband) from the beginning. Kerry is the “big picture” part of our family/team. He handles everything from handling phone calls, answering general questions, organizing the office, marketing, and managing our web site.

“Cameron Bankruptcy Law” came about shortly after Sheree completed law school at UNC. She was hired by a bankruptcy attorney (who has since retired) in a rural community in North Carolina. After discovering several ethical dilemmas with her employer, she quit and started “Cameron Bankruptcy Law” with her husband.

Around that time our 2 year old son was diagnosed as “Severely Autistic”. His actions were feral, and we had dim hopes he would be able to talk. Aidan was too much for one of us to handle, so we both chose to work out of a home office.

Fast forward to today. After lots of therapy, we often wonder if our son can ever STOP talking! He is in an ordinary classroom with typically developing kids and is earning academic honors! We are EXTREMELY proud of all his hard work. His ability to adapt and overcome inspires us every single day.

Even though our son has made amazing progress, we kept our home office. We found that our clients appreciate our lower overhead and thus lower costs. They also appreciate the flexibility a home office gives us, and they love being able to meet with us after working hours and on weekends. Our business plan bloomed. Now our practice thrives on our web site and referrals from past clients.

Sheree is now a well respected bankruptcy attorney who receives most of her work from referrals of previous clients and other attorneys. She maintains our ideals of low cost, high service, and easy accessibility with our phone manned nearly 24/7.

We also live with two dogs (Ella, our English Mastiff, and George, our Lab mix rescue), and two parrots (Jax, a Greenwing Macaw, and Kyla, an Umbrella Cockatoo). All seem to believe they are human, and are on a constant mission to take over our bed.

Thank you for letting us share a little about ourselves.

We look forward to meeting you, hearing about your life, and helping you in any way we can. If you’d like to begin the road to a fresh start, and have a free, no strings attached, no high pressure, debt relief consultation, just click on the Email button to your right.

Thankful Couple!
I can't say enough good about Sheree and Kerry. They are genuine and feel what you are going through. Bankruptcy is a terrible thing to have to resort to, but with these two guiding the way it was a breeze. Great prices too! I would definitely recommend Sheree Cameron if you need a bankruptcy lawyer who is compassionate.

Smooth process
Cameron Law made a very stressful time in my life much easier. I liked the privacy and attention I received that I wouldn’t have gotten from a big firm. Sheree and Kerry made me feel comfortable and informed throughout the entire process!

Best experience possible
Bankruptcy is tough, and the lawyer sees you when you are at your lowest. I admit, I was worried and was a challenging client but Sheree and Kerry came through with shining colors. Will definitely recommend!

What I Like About Sheree Cameron & her Husband
They are very personable and knowledgeable. They met with me on a weekend - with my schedule, that was wonderful! I filed once before with another attorney, and they responded MUCH faster than he did. They were also much cheaper than my previous attorney. I highly reccommend them.

Thank God!
We were in a bad way with debt piling up to our ears. I just didn't want to deal with it - but Cameron Law did! My debt is gone, and Sheree & Kerry were very easy to work with. She understood my anxiety and he provided a shoulder to cry on. The only thing I found wrong is sometimes they would take a couple days to answer an email.

The process of going through a bankruptcy is very stressful. From the beginning, there were issues in dealing wtih this lawyer. This is a couple that works together. They meet you at Starbucks to discuss your case where everyone can hear your business. Never once were they on time for the meetings. They took over a month to file the original motion. I could not get them to email me back (because that is the only way to communicate with the actual lawyer instead of her husband). After they were paid, it was very difficult to get information. I was not kept informed about the process at all. From the beginning they recommended that I file a Chapter 7, even though I was a business owner. When the need arouse that I needed to convert to a Chapter 13, they became very defensive. I couldn't get the attorney to email me back, I was constantly having to speak to her husband, the paralegal. Then when finally confronted about the lack of attention, she said that she would withdraw as counsel. I do not recommend anyone use this attorney.

Response from Sheree Cameron September 28, 2017
You didn't use your name, so I can legally comment on your comments. Bankruptcy is can be stressful, but we try to take most of the stress out of it but we are not always successful — especially when a client thinks they know more about bankruptcy than we do in our combined 27 years of practice. First, we have an office in our home, NOT Starbucks. We were there at YOUR request because you didn’t want to come to our home-office. Second, we had two meetings with you, and we were 15 minutes late to only the first one, not all. We also discounted your fee $100 because of being 15 minutes late to the first one — you forgot to mention that. I thought $100 for 15 minutes was a good deal for you. Third, we ask for two business days to respond to an email, not an hour. We explained this in our first meeting, and it is in our paperwork we gave you. I'm sorry that was not good enough for you but that is better than the industry standard. Forth, You forgot to mention the "husband" you spoke about is also my para-legal (and a very good one!). With most practices, the paralegal is the one to whom you communicate, with limited access to the attorney - even in email. We have found (as have all bankruptcy attorneys) that clients that want to speak with the attorney all the time (as you did) are unwilling or unable to pay for that time. We do have unlimited email with the attorney and unlimited calls to the paralegal (who, yes, happens to be my husband). Fifth, your business had no assets or debt and was not in danger — so why should it file bankruptcy? I think you are mixing up a Chapter 7 and a Chapter 13. Business' can't file a Chapter 13 - it’s the law, sorry. If you were going to file a business bankruptcy it would have to be a Chapter 7 or Chapter 11. Sixth, from the beginning we recommended a Chapter 13, as a personal bankruptcy - NOT a business bankruptcy. We recommended a personal Chapter 13 because you could loose the $870,000 in residuals in a Chapter 7. YOU were the one who wanted a Chapter 7 because it was cheaper and faster and didn't think there was any risk if you didn't mentipn it to the trustee - which is illegal. We weren't defensive, we were looking out for your best interests. Seventh, YOU asked for us to withdraw from counsel because you wanted to do things that were unethical and we would not do them. Eighth, you have been a great example of someone who thinks they know better than their attorney — just like on TV! We use your case (without naming anyone) as an example of what NOT to do. Ninth, I'm sorry you felt we were not up to your high standards. We do wish you the best.
